Since no one here is wishing ill will, than I'll do it. I hope he tanks at UK, destroys his draft stock, and ends up overseas

Yeah literally googled CJ Frederick not knowing he had died. I guess he was referring to his basketball career "dying".I believe he’s still alive.
I think this should be changed from ROI to ROE--return on ego. Not a business major, but how does a donor line their pockets giving $6 million to a kid to play ball for their school? Probably works out better financially to leave it in their checking account at 1%.If he doesn't produce, I would think the hate would also come from those writing the checks. College athletics is all about the return on investment now.
Kid's got 6 million reasons to be a Wildcat. Only spoilsports would not wish him well.

I’m not sure Milan and his agent “demanded” $6M (or whatever it is). It’s the number the market bears, I guess. Doesn’t hurt that two of the schools he was talking to late in the process were Kentucky and Louisville. Those schools, fans and donors hate each other and both are trying to hang on the blue blood status.
He will get raked over the coals by Kentucky fans if he doesn’t produce like last year, but that kind of hate will be coming from people not writing the checks.
The butthurt around here is somewhat understandable but is it really all that different than turning pro? Especially if he never plays against the Clones?Just sad with the recent departures knowing the great cyclone alumni he could have been... he seemed to like ISU, I was hoping he'd be like another Niang or Haliburton, help with recruiting come back to games, engage the fans as a fan and all that.
I suppose he still could be but it's not the same, he's a wildcat now not a cyclone![]()
NIL contracts, or whatever they're called these days, should include a 20% cut going to the school the player is transferring from.Always fun to root against Kentucky and their players
Milan isn’t worth $6 million. Good decision by TJ. When the market is willing to overpay for one of your players, you replace the net production in a more cap friendly way.
This. Some people act like there would be no criticism at Iowa State. Our fan base has, and will continue to, turn on players when they don't perform. Look at guys like Brock Purdy, who is a darling now, but had quite a few vocal detractors during his time here.I wouldn't say he got what he will at UK but plenty on here would go after him and other players for 'not giving enough effort' or 'dissapearing' if shots weren't falling.
Idiots are abundant in sports Fandom no matter where it is.
Lol. Yeah, we should try to include buyout language in our nil agreements. Not even 20%, make it 10. Hell, make it 5. See how many players we sign....NIL contracts, or whatever they're called these days, should include a 20% cut going to the school the player is transferring from.

Since this is a professional league I really don't feel an obligation to wish anyone well
I don't disagree, but ISU isn't exempt from this same behavior. If Milan would have stayed, and shot 30% from three instead of 50, there would be plenty of vocal displeasure from the Cyclone fan base. This is sports.
And that’s even more appropriate when guys are paid
Not because they’re making money, but because of the opportunity cost their salary represents. If a player is getting a huge portion of the roster on a single guy, he needs to produce at the level commensurate to that salary.
Ask nearly any player if such an expectation and noise is a fair trade for that salary, and they’d say yes.
While I don’t totally disagree, if you think the criticism here is anything like what would happen if he goes 2-10 against Louisville, then you are nuts. That fanbase is already crazy, then you add in not liking their coach, then you add in the very public knowledge that he’s making 6 million. There’s no denying that’s a whole different level of pressure compared to a place where he’s built up 3 years of goodwill.This. Some people act like there would be no criticism at Iowa State.
