Agreed. And I’m not saying they need to blow sunshine and rainbows up our asses. But there isn’t a lot we can do about the current system, and it isn’t good for the fans to be constantly reminded of it.
Plus, even with all the nonsense there are still a lot of good things going for ISU.

I don’t care as much that they are wrong occasionally, but that doesn’t jive with the constant “I’ve been saying this forever” crap anytime anything comes up.

I haven't listened to this pod yet. I agree there's no way to ignore some of the negative that is related to ISU and it so happens to be taking place simultaneously.

I suppose the challenge is to find a balance between current-impact (pos, neg or otherwise) + some of the lighter off-season/evergreen topics as mentioned by @Messi above, and others.

I don't think much has changed. Basketball is fine, football is an issue but was always going to be the case. Biggest thing is we need state funding or the big 12 needs a new contract that's much better. Nothing has changed.

The Milan thing, yeah he's a TJ guy, but it's not different than a pro team letting a guy go cause the market is overvaluing him. Nobody's fault.

I think the line of not blaming any of the players and not having to like it rings true. I really like my job, but i'd put in my two weeks this afternoon if a competitor offered me double or triple.

Sorry, but I don't recall them saying it so strongly. I remember them saying that Milan really wants to go to the NBA, but I remember lots of disclaimers over the last few months about not knowing for sure what is going to happen.

Seems that some of the listeners mistook their opinions for reporting, even though they often say that it is just their opinions.

Basketball is fine for now. But given CBB has had more parity, it’s more at risk. There’s always been great postseason access, so in the future, P2’s being above Iowa St simply because they have a lot higher salary cost represents degradation

Football on the other hand, although our roster will struggle to compete with P2 that can offer more, it’s offset by a large degree by the better access from (expanded) CFP. For Iowa St and most M2, we were never competing with the elites in football

So, now that I've defended the guys, I will offer my own correction. I don't think Milan "got exposed" by Tennessee. Most people knew that Milan was vulnerable in a situtation like that. I thought it was even more evident in Tuscon a few weeks earlier. The Tennessee game was just confirmation. However, I will always remember Milan for the Kentucky game where he lit it up at the end of the first half only to set up Kentucky's second half collapse. That is the Milan that I thought an NBA team would want to have. Ironically, if I'm using the word correctly, Milan may end up at Kentucky.
