Hannah Montana Super Bowl Halftime

I was in Manchester, England during the Super Bowl this past year and not a single person I interacted with knew the Super Bowl was going on that weekend. In comparison, there was a regular season Premier League game that same day between Liverpool and City and the whole city was pretty much shut down to watch this game and pubs were packed. In fact, it was estimated that 700m-750m globally watched that regular season game compared to only about 220m globally who watched the Super Bowl. I don't think Americans realize that the NFL is primarily just an American product aside from niche fans.
The estimates are that over 200 million people watched the super bowl this year, world wide, with 125 million of those being in the United states. Yeah, the majority is still domestic, but the remaining 75 million viewers is nothing to sneeze at, and still something that the league is going to chase hard.

During most Super Bowl parties that I attend, only a few of us actually watch the game . . . but everyone crowds around the TV for the halftime show.

Personally, I think "concerts" during halftime shows are dumb. Halftime is best used for bathroom breaks, marching bands, and Dr. Pepper throwing contests.

Why the hate on Miley Cyrus?

I think it was the period of over the top rebellious behavior as a shocking break from her Disney character. Like all of the random amateurish looking tattoos and the stuff like nudes with that pervert Terry Richardson that probably turned some people off. Still, seems people would chill on that by now since she's WAY settled down by a lot. By settled down I mean people don't probably need to worry that she'll end up drugged out or something. I don't follow pop music culture in any detail but the Wrecking Ball video was fun and I liked her last pop hit, Flowers, was a good and catchy radio tune.

I went from not knowing who Hannah Montana even was to thinking "This Cyrus chick might be crazy" to "I like this now all grown up 30-something woman".

My girls just discovered Hannah Montana a few weeks ago and have binged it all since. They will be pumped!

I thought the Bad Bunny show was fine, couldn't understand a word he said, but the show was entertaining to watch. Just wish they had placed captions in English at the bottom so we could understand what he was singing about.

I'm pretty neutral when it comes to Miley, but I did like Use to be Young. That's a song that hits home for middle aged people, although it seems a little disengenuous being sung by someone in her early 30s.

The best halftime show was when In Living Color did their halftime show to coincide with the actual Super Bowl halftime show.

Edit: I looked it up and it was the same year as the terrible 1992 halftime show. Which lives on via YouTube

She's been working since she was in her teens. She's old for her age.

Just here to cast another vote for Weird Al for all the NFL overlords lurking in this thread.
