****Official Class Of 2027 Recruiting Thread****

I know he was expecting a Duke offer. However, did Otz just pass on him, with that expectation or at least made a visit?
I’m sure early on they looked in his direction but was never identified as a serious target. The staff usually only offers 5-7 kids. 5 offers out in 2027, with 2 commits and 2 they’re still going after.

The only thing I can think of is Josiah Harrington and Kager Knueppel are pretty similar players and likely slot into that small forward position in college. I'd describe Kager as more of a shooter and Josiah more of a slasher. Im sure TJ also knew he was sitting pretty with Donovan Davis.

There is a possibility that his last name is making him get paid more money than TJ feels like his value actually is. Can’t Moves to say another player at that level who you can get at a lower price

CW mentioned on the Williams & Blum Wednesday pod that we are still looking at two Wisconsin kids for the 2027 class. I know one of them, but I was curious who the other one is? If that needs to stay behind the premium walls, I completely understand.

This would be my educated guess. Guessing that because of his ranking and who else is recruiting him

The more I watch of Kohnen the more I like his game. Really big 2/3 guard at 6'6". His jumper is pure. Seems like a really humble and well-spoken kid listening to his interviews. Don't hate that his little brother Joey is the #1 recruit in the state of WI for 2028 either.

As a college basketball fan one of my favorite teams ever was that 2019 TTech squad that lost to Virginia in the national title game. They played big physical guards and a bit undersized/tough/athletic/versatile posts. That resulted in all five players between 6'5" and 6"8 the vast majority of the time. Switch everything defense at all positions. It was an absolute nightmare to go up against and they finished #1 KenPom defense by a wide margin.

Perhaps TJ is building something similar here. Wiggins, Harrington, Davis, Kohnen brothers all seem to fit that profile. Yusef Gray Jr is a really big physical point.
I don't necessarily think the Kohnen brothers are a package deal, but I also don't think it hurts the chances for Joey with whatever team Jack goes to
