Former player who was dismissed from the team is suing the University, former AD Alberts, and present woman’s coach Amy Williams. Seems an an Asst coach was having sexual relations with her, they told him to deny everything. His lawyer just stated that the allegations were true!

No offense but is it against the law for a coach to date a player? I mean it's not high school and the players are grown up. BTW I am talking lawsuit wise. Not the right thing to do. Clearly it's not the right thing to do. However, what would the lawsuit actually consist of doing? Two people hooked up that were over 18. I don't see a crime or a lawsuit. I see a coach who made a bad decision and should be fired and thats about it.

Billy and Lyndsey Fennelly? IIRC, Billy was a student manager at the time. I also rememebr reading an article that they hid the relationship from CBF.

Although, not the same teams, TJ (coach) and Allison Lacey (student) met at Iowa State.

Yes, wrongful termination is a thing, not a lawyer so who knows in this case, but maybe.

I think it is more about that the player was kicked off the team and made to cover up the reason.

There's still the part about one person being in a place of authority over the other, even if both are of age.

Manager/player would be no big deal. But coach/player brings in the authority piece.

What about when the manager's father is the coach? Slippery slope?

But there is. It's malfeasance.

The coach holds all the power to play or bench his paramour. She is not in control of that situation, even if she thinks she is. Plus, it's not fair to the other players who are not playing Hide the Kielbasa with the coach.

But as an adult she made that decision also I would say. I may be totally wrong but she decided to hide his kielbasa

It's not about the sex, that's what you're missing. The lawsuit is about Nebraska being directly accused of covering it up and kicking the player off the team for it. There are laws regulating that. It's also framed somewhat as a grooming/coercion thing.
Scoggin seeks damages to compensate her for her mental suffering, the loss of her place on the team and violations of her rights under the federal and state constitutions in the lawsuit. It blames Nebraska officials for failing to intervene to advise of her right to a fair and neutral investigation with trained investigators under Title IX, the federal law prohibiting gender discrimination.
Does this have any actual merit? I don't really know, but it is inflamed by the university and the coach's previous insistence that no sexual contact occurred, which was undone recently by him admitting under oath that it did. My guess is that it'll reach a settlement.

Paramour? Dang, I had to look that one up.

This is a good explanation. The relationship is also likely to be prohibited by university and/or NCAA guidelines which could be considered a breach of contract.
