Yeah I didn't take it as a slight, that'd be pretty bad considering we're in the same conference. I think that writer either didn't know or forgot about the Dekkers situation. And clearly skipped any research on the topic for this story.
Which is weird because Wetzel is one of the more plugged in guys.
To be fair, this is a WAY bigger story than anything that happened here.
Dekkers wasn't making $5M+ after being the most well thought of guy in the portal. Plus this stuff was in its infancy at that point.

The rules were literally changed because of the Iowa and Iowa State betting scandal. I would argue the Iowa/Iowa State scandal was much larger of a deal if you take into context when it happened.
The only way it’s bigger, IMO, is if Cincy sat on this info and then divulged it only because Sorsbey left them.
