Audi Crooks to Transfer

My issue is the players and coaches making false or exaggerated statements about them leaving. Just go and get your bag. Leave. Stop saying it “was a hard decision” when you now say you knew all along. There is a huge disconnect between players, students and fans because of NIL and the portal. Players could help a little by stopping the false pretenses. Be honest or be quiet. Same with coaches. Just my opinion.

Lol. Players and Coaches feeding us BS. It’s what they do.

From Ok State message board:

On the radio this morning, Coach Hoyt indicated that the $1.5 million number was way off base and flat out wrong. Of course she said nothing specific about the amounts going to players. Also, without naming names (obviously), she expressed gratitude to donors who have stepped up, and she referenced one in particular. It was an interesting interview as she talked a little about her approach to recruiting and the personalities and mindsets of the portal players who are coming here.

I just talked to a good friend of mine that’s as reliable as one can be, who knows the donor of the NIL money (which I happen to know also but I haven’t spoken to him in a few years), that it is $1 million a year. Which might be a number rounded down or up a couple of hundred thousand.

It’s quite logical that the amount has to be close to $1 million a year anyway. And it’s to Hoyt’s wisdom to downplay the total amount because you don’t want any small donors to just give up and you don’t want the other players on your team thinking they’re underpaid.

There’s no wonder no school, no coach, and no college administrator wants actual figures of cost of athletes to be known by the general public.

This arms race is crazy and getting crazier.

Meh, whether it is $1.0 million or $1.4 million, still a giant waste of money for a one dimensional player. Prob why none of the top 10 programs engaged in a bidding war.

But who can understand the rich? One day is it paying $50 million for a Banksy piece, the next day throwing a million at a player that won't even do anything in the WNBA.

It's all a write off, Jerry!

You don’t even know what a write off is!

This thread got me thinking the other day - South Park ought to do an episode on the transfer portal. They poke fun of about everything else, the possibilities of how you could make fun of what happens with the portal both with athletes and fans could make a pretty funny episode.

My thought as well. Nobody that is anyone was trying to bid on her. Like Milan will have a bidding war with the big boys if he comes back. The top teams will throw massive amounts at him. Crooks went to a mid range team that is very similar to the team she just left.

Addy Brown to UCLA, interesting decision for one year as they just won the Natty and that team is all gone. She will play, obviously.

Will Addy Brown be their headliner? Perhaps Addy wants the attention. I remember her getting the bulk of the attention before Audi emerged.

Considering no one outside the program or without direct access to info knows why the transfers happened…it’s hard to point fingers. Coach Fen is def a big part of the puzzle, but the people I know in the program pointed to clashes within the team structure contributed as well.
Sounds like grounds to cancel the program. Someone needs to inform JP!!!
