*** Official #23 Tennessee vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Oh well. I am not sticking around to commiserate. This is absolute misery though.

We all knew this team wasn't making a deep run without Jefferson, as disappointing as it is. Just typical ISU luck to lose yet ANOTHER key player to injury before getting going in the tourney.
They had a great senior PG in Lipsey, Milan, and a pretty good supporting cast. They should have been able to win this game instead of getting beat handily. I'm not sure they would have won without Jefferson.

I think this sweet 16 game is going to be hard for tj to win until we get better offensively. Other team gets a week to prepare for the trap, and to realize if you keep us out of transition it's really hard for us to score.

I'm not arguing that losing your best player doesn't hurt badly. But we're talking about an opponent that was #6 seed who was pretty solid in the SEC but nothing to write home about.

They got absolute run off the gym by Florida. And I've seen many posts here downplaying the ability of that team.
Each game is different. If the one thing they do really well is rebound and your opponent loses its best big, it's a problem.

Each game has its own dynamic.

Tough things, aka iowa state basketball(football hasn't been close). Landscape of everything, seems it might be hard to get past the 16. Every mother fn ****** mother fn mother ****** time. My head space is trashed with iowa to the 8

I knew when filling out my bracket, the FTs were the potential end of us…and it proved to be true. I just don’t understand how guys who play at this level can’t shoot 70% from 15 ft without someone guarding you.
