I love the idea of the glass floor. At times, it was pretty spectacular. It will be back. Just needs a bit more tweaking.
And better court designs (my greatest fear about switching back to wood is it’s going to be that abomination from last year).

Did you not watch Texas Tech's best player try to come to a sudden stop, do the splits, and have to leave the game with a groin injury?
With 3 more games left to play in the Big 12 tournament involving several projected NBA 1st round draft picks, I'm guessing the law suits would be massive if any of those guys suffered serious injuries from the obvious traction problems.
Right, but it's perception vs reality right now. If the only thing people are going to remember about the glass court is the perceived increased slippage, they needed to take a step back for a second and reevaluate.Have you never seen a basketball player get hurt on a wood court? FFS.
Yes, there was more slipping than a typical court, but it's not like they were playing on ice.
I'm guessing it'll be the generic TMobile Center house floor that they'll scramble to get some graphics on.And better court designs (my greatest fear about switching back to wood is it’s going to be that abomination from last year).

Its about minimizing risk. Yes, injuries happen all the time in every sport, but it’s all about minimizing the risk as much as possible. If there’s more slipping than a normal court, why have your 4 best teams play 1 or 2 more games at an elevated, unnecessary risk? Especially, the week before the Big Dance where all 4 of those teams have realistic chances of a Final 4 run, if healthy.Have you never seen a basketball player get hurt on a wood court? FFS.

Self says he was not part of the decision to replace the floor, but agrees with the change. After Dark reported last night that the 4 semifinal coaches took a vote on the court, and all but TJ voted for switching back to the traditional court.
Guess I can't blame TJ since we've won our two games by an average of 35 points.
I’m lazy and either breeze through the posts at a rapid pace or just skip to the last page because ain’t nobody got time to read through 6 pages about a court. Apologies if I missed your previous posts.I'm not sure if you're reading more into what I've said or what. I already said I agreed with the decision to scrap that court & that it's not quite ready.
Yeah this could take away a distinct advantage our guys have by having had to walk around our campus all winter long on sidewalks similarly slippery (say that 5 times fast) as this court was.On the other hand, we DID outscore two opponents by 71 points on that floor.![]()
Texas would have added a rule that no southern big 12 team has to play a northern team on this surface after 1/31Yeah this could take away a distinct advantage our guys have by having had to walk around our campus all winter long on sidewalks similarly slippery (say that 5 times fast) as this court was.
I love it!Just take the Hilton floor.
Heck, I'll bet there are Hok fans blaming this floor for their loss the TOSU yesterday....I bet the lawsuits are already in the works. All the teams already out will swear that the floor cost them the chance to win and make the Sweet 68.
