I'm trying to figure out the different defensive strategies on the effectiveness of Audi. From what I can see, some teams try to play her straight up one-on-one -usually ineffective. Some appear to double team all the time, sometimes in front and back and sometimes on each side. Then, some bring a double team as soon as the pass is on the way to her, usually from the weak side. I didn't see today's first half, but Audi had a field day in the 2nd half. It looked like KSU inside players were always a step slow. In the Okie St. game, she got very flustered. It will be interesting what we see in the tournaments ???? We go as she goes!!!!

Okie state has a lot going for them, but one thing I noticed was how much they leaned and shoved on Audi. It was pretty much the whole game.

I'll add it comes down to whether or not the guards/forwards are hitting their shots. Baylor was our "the emperor has no clothes" game. They tripled down on AC and dared J. Williams to shoot and she was ice cold that day.

I expect we'll see this a lot in the tourney. They'll gamble on shutting down AC and dare our guards to hit open shots. If we're hot, we can win those games. If we're cold, it's a lot harder to win.

Nice to see a win today and the team played stronger down the stretch after fading the last couple of games.

I don’t remember them doing anything this aggressive. Very young talented team that is going to be very good down the road.

Bill mentioned this on the post game radio: we hit our free throws today! 23-24 and Audi went 9-9 too. He also pointed out we scored 93 points despite turning it over 24 times

Jada had 8 TO today, still needs to clean that up as her assist to turnover ratio is 2.34 on the season. I hate to nitpick when she scores 23 and has 9 assists and 5 boards today but as the PG you have to take care of the ball better than that regardless. Hare knocked down some timely 3's today and over the past 6 games is has shot 16-30 from 3 so hope that keeps up and she makes teams pay for doubling Audi or leaving her open on a rotation.

Addy owned the boards today. Hasn't quite found her touch yet shooting but she's doing a lot of good things in other areas that helps keep defenses honest. If she starts knocking down some shots it's going be to hard for defenses to focus as much attention on Audi with Jada and Addy capable of making plays or kicking out to an open shooter on a drive.

Wouldn't be surprised if they moved up to a 7 if they win the Big 12 Tournament. Selection committee probably wants Audi in the NCAA Tournament as long as possible.

On thing that I’ve seen is the potential for a Crooks vs Betts(UCLA) matchup that might make us sticky at the 8-9 seed.

The question is now that we are healthy again can we recapture some of the mojo that we had when we were 14-0? We had that 5 game skid then went 5-0 and went 3-2 in our last 5. Which team is going to show up in March?

That will happen when you lose your most important and most versatile player for over a month during conference play.

If we got matched with a lower two seed like OU I like our chances. We’ve always matched up well with Jenny coached teams. Avoiding the top five would be ideal.

Hopefully they are in the Big 12 tournament long enough to get back in a groove. They will be a very dangerous middle seed if they get back to playing their early season ball.

I posted early in the season that on paper if this team played to past performances levels they could go far. The only thing that could hurt is players getting hurt. That happened to hurt the seasons record so now we need to stay healthy and see what happens. Go Cyclones!!!
