Seen tweets that ND is unhappy with the ACC and looking to get away from their scheduling, B1G obviously doesn't need them. Is there an upside to the Big 12 taking them?

Notre Dame is a victim of their own policies. They wanted to have participation in the ACC but not membership. When push came to shove, the ACC prioritized its membership. I get why Notre Dame would be pissed when this happens, but that's a product of your own decisions, brother.
They should've just kept everything else in the Big East like before the last round of realignment.
Anywhere but here is my guess. #1 they’d have to take a pay cut most likely and #2 those dooshers would never want to mingle with the “truck stop conference”

B10 would give just about anything to land ND. I think the perception that the B12 is functionally the same as the ACC minus the academic pedigree keeps them from even thinking about coming over the the B12.
ND will stay independent as long as they can be competitive on the field, can fill out their schedule, and has access to the CFP. This seems like a shot across the bow (with some plausible deniability) that the last point might not be as solid as they'd wish.
B1G may not need them, but they will absolutely make room for them.
I was gonna go nuts if ND got in and Miami was out and people said "The ACC got left out". ND basically already plays in the ACC while avoiding the CCG.

I still don't understand how ND has this much leverage. The sport of College Football would survive just fine if ND disappeared.
Their football program decided yesterday(!!!) that they would rather sit at home than play BYU in a bowl. It’s the fans and administration. They wouldn’t spend a second thinking about joining the B12
