My wife and I met at Iowa State over 20 years ago, have been donors, and have enjoyed being fans for decades.

Here is her perfect take…
I feel like the 6 who married a 10 after he told me he’d never leave and then dumps me for the town slut after 10 years.

I think the issue is this, I think we as fans needed a day or two to grieve and move on before announcing a new coach. Campbell hadn't even finished his team meeting announcing he is leaving prior to ISU announcing his replacement. We just lost the greatest coach in program history. It is ok to have his replacement in-line, but wait until Monday to announce it and have the press conference that day. I feel horrible for the new coach, he doesn't stand a chance with the fans right now as we have no way to digest the last 72 hours. It all happened too fast with Campbell you don't need the replacement to happen in a minute.

At the time the the person felt like a "10" because you felt like a 3. But over time you saw the value in yourself and what you have to offer and realize you are much better. Your 're appreciative of them regardless because they helped you to get better. Now you know who you are and you're capable of getting better.
