Hi everyone! Just sharing a clip I posted on twitter I thought you might enjoy.

MJ Gaitan talked about being doubted ahead of today's dual...well, I never doubted him. So I made sure to clip that quick. ;)

Is there a way to watch the match with our radio guys rather than the tv announcers?

My wrestling viewership has been pretty sporadic over the years. Is it just me, or does he have a very unique wrestling style (or maybe just for this match)? Seemed like his main strategy was to use his opponent's near-take down attempts and turn them into his own points.

He's a funky wrestler. He has a unique ability to put anyone on their back from about any position. A strength and detriment at the same time. Like Dresser said, they'd like half a tornado out of him, as opposed to full tornado .

I thought that Kennedy was the first one to try to get funky in this match. It really surprised me. Glad that MJ could take care of business in a long match.

I will admit I have a little knowledge of wrestling -- enough to be dangerous I suppose -- but I thought that last stalling call against Gaitan that tied the match was B.S.

Someone tell me if I am wrong and explain why the call was correct

That's what I was wondering. He's quick enough he can almost beat his opponent to thinking he can get a takedown then a quick revenge for his own.

A few years ago they made a new rule if you get pushed out or back out of bounds with your back to the boundary, with out making an attempt to circle back in, it's an automatic stall call. It was probably the right call and Kennedy did a nice job of not letting MJ circle back in. In reality, MOST refs won't make that call in that situation. MJ needed to stay center of the mat

I thought MJs scrambling was much more controlled in this match. Instead of going right to the scramble and big move, he made sure to stop the initial shot with more baseline d, then once the attack was stuffed, he turned it into counter offense.

That MJ can be very dangerous, but does need to develop some kind of go to attack of his own.

When they hit with that stalling and sent it to OT, I was sure he was out of gas. Glad I was wrong!
He was out of gas. But so was Kennedy. The challenge was a great move whether they thought it was actually locked hands or not. Not doubting Gaitan, but it's more likely he doesn't survive the first action in his turn on top if he doesn't get the breather. The better wrestler yesterday won. I didn't think Kennedy earned all 3 stall calls.

Good call. Mark of a good journalist.

I believe the locked hands occurred in regulation. The tv camera angles likely did not catch it.

Considering the refs said "it was too late when the brick was thrown".... still indicates that Kennedy still did it.
