Twister Sister Summary - Sisters Win Big Over St. Thomas

One thing I learned this game was kids really like 6-7.

Paulk, Beaty, A. Wiliams, and J. Williams impressed today. If Audi can keep her FT average to 80% that would be massive.

One point of criticism that you touched on. Audi was not passing it out well today even when tripled teamed.

Sad day when the world cares more about 6-7 then 6-9

Yeah, that is two games in a row where she has shot lights out at the line: 8-9 in the exhibition and 6-7 today. That would put her at .875 for the season if the exhibition had counted. If she can continue at a clip like that it is going to make it a lot more difficult for teams to just throw multiple bigs at her and use all of their 15-20 fouls. Giving up even 1.5 points every time they send her to the line is not a winning proposition for the opponents.

Love to see the emphasis on defense. That is going to make this team much more difficult to beat when they can bridge scoring droughts with excellent defense. Also great to see that it isn't just some of the first team defending. ISU can bring support off the bench while keeping the defensive intensity up. That has a tendency to wear down opponents and cause mistakes to multiply while tired legs and brains don't help shooting numbers either.

Can you explain the challenge system? It was only in the last two minutes of the game, but now it is different. What is the rule now?

Lots of good things today against an inferior opponent. I really like the creativity from Jada and Beaty at the point. I hope CBF lets them play and doesn’t restrict them as the season progresses. I think Jada could be a difference maker. I like our roster flexibility a lot better than last year. We are very small at guard, but having EP as an option with size helps. I still worry about Audi’s interior defense, but we will see. Solid start to the year.

the following plays can be challenged at any point during the game:

  • Ruled out-of-bounds violations.
  • Ruled backcourt violations.
  • Whether a change in team possession occurred before the ruling of a foul where free throws would be involved.
  • Whether a foul was assessed to the correct player.
Officials cannot initiate reviews on these calls, with the exception of whether a foul was assessed to the correct player.

Teams will not be required to have a timeout to make a video review challenge in NCAA women's basketball competition. However, a failed challenge will result in a technical foul for an excessive timeout.
