"Fancy" Food or Items from your childhood

Grew up very working class, parents worked multiple jobs, we kids had everything we needed and got a little of what we wanted. One vivid memory is when Iowa beat Tennessee (who had WR Willie Gault at the time) in the Peach Bowl. My dad was so jacked after that W he loaded us all up and took us through the McDonald's drive thru. I was probably 10 years old, got me some McNuggets. That was a special treat.

Pop was always a treat. It wasn't that uncommon but certainly not every day. Maybe once every week or two.

My father was a fan. He would stash a six pack or even a case of Pepsi 12 oz glass bottles in a garage or outbuilding. He also had a penchant for dragging home near marginal junk automobiles. He might instead hide it in the trunk of one. If he was feeling good on a Saturday he would come into the house with one poking out of his overalls pocket and we'd all beg for a drink.

You only got one chance; the challenge was to drink as much as humanly possible in one swig without exploding because of the gas accumulating in your belly.

And if we FOUND the stash it was secretly allowed for us to drink one or two secretly when he wasn't around as long as we didn't clean him out.
