    I've been to the one in Bondurant and the one just off I-35 in Ellsworth, both were clean, well ran, and had pretty good food.

    I've actually been impressed with the Maverik stores when I've been down in Central Iowa in the past year. They aren't Kwik Star, but they blow Casey's out of the water.

    Agreed. I think there are a lot of Republican legislators in favor of it that wouldn't back it previously out of fear of retribution from Reynolds. With a governor in the other party, they don't have that threat.

    Well, that’s the end of KXNO I’d have to think. This has been telegraphed for the better part of a decade, and I can’t imagine any of them are all that surprised, but this makes me grateful that CW et al got so far out ahead of this with Iowa Everywhere.

    Does anyone still have that? My recollection is that it was Marty completely showing his ass while Cotman came off the same way he always did. In hindsight, I miss his passion for a totally niche topic (Drake hoops) that I've come to miss in this era of constantly marginalizing sports niches...

    Just say “it’s not an option at this time”. I think he actually said that booze sales would happen over his dead body, and of course the whole “slobs bit”. It’s not that hard to justify this stance without insulting your patrons
