Chris Williams and Brent Blum are joined by Jake Brend to discuss the New York Times’ valuation on every Power 5 football team, they hit more on Curtis Jones‘ NBA future, bounce around the Big 12 for some hot topics on Texas Tech and Utah and react to the Farmageddon spread. All presented by Mechdyne Corporation.

An aside, during discussion about pronunciation of Dominykas Pleta: Brend is correct, as guided by Walters during the interview*, it is "Doh-minn-i-kus," but surname isn't "Pleeta," it's "PLAY-tuh."

* good interview, btw

17 team league can't play 9 conference games (17 × 9 = 153, which has to be an even number). You'd have to add another team and get to 18 and further dilute the pot or play 8 or 10 conference games.

Yeah they seemed to forget Notre Dame gets thrown in their as “a conference member” as well.

Also, @ChrisMWilliams the “Crabtree game” was Leach vs. Texas.

They could have a lottery for one team each season to get an 8 conference game schedule.

This, plus a few other reasons, are why adding Memphis makes no sense.

Of course over on two guys he capitulates to Hassel and agrees that it's dumb to turn them down.

Including that Memphis' offer was all theoretical money -- projections of potential sponsorship dollars. It's not like they walked into Yormark's office with a big check and he told them to pound sand.

Yeah that whole conversation was kind of insane. Complete opposite of how he spoke and thought about with Blum and Brend.

Boise State!?!? I have no idea why Hassel would think “that” would move any sort of needle when it comes national perception.
