***College Towns to Visit***

Second on Oxford, MS. My youngest son is about to transfer there for Cheer, really a great town and campus. Just really hot in the summer. Small town vibe but some really cool restaurants and not a lot of big chains. People were incredibly nice as well

Stay far away from Temple in Philly(has to be the most dangerous campus)

Agreed, Charlottesville is pretty nice.

I’m going respectfully disagree on the “Lincoln, Nebraska is amazing” comment. “Amazing” is quite the stretch

I'll see your Temple and raise you LaSalle (also in Philly) and University of Bridgeport (Bridgeport, Connecticut).

Stillwater - thumbs up
Avoid Norman, hang out in Bricktown (OK City)
Lawrence - OK if you can avoid too much interaction with KU fans
Manhattan- Just fine is you have KSTATE fans/friends with you
Lincoln - thumbs up
Columbia MO the only old Big 8 town I never went to a game in

Yes, I'm old.

I hate SEC football but seeing a game at Knoxville or Oxford would definitely make my list for places I would like to see a game

Since Philly is getting a bad rap, I'll put in a good word for Villanova. Stayed at a hotel on campus there and they had a pretty awesome breakfast buffet. Don't remember much about the actual school though.

Stillwater I was shocked still allowed smoking in the bars. Years after you couldnt in Ames.
Still a good town.
Lawrence is solid.
Manhattan is very solid. Aggieville is cool.
Lincoln is solid. Haymarket area is nice.
Columbia was meh to me. Was hyped up by someone we knew for fishbowls at a bar.
(I'd rather go to Eskimo Joe's in Stillwater)

Upon getting to LaSalle's campus that day we were escorted to our first building by campus security and when we asked why were told that a student was stabbed on the corner the previous night by a homeless person.

Nova is solid 40-45 minute drive from Philly and is one of the wealthiest areas on the east coast.

Penn, Drexel and Temple are just in rough areas
