Was pointed out to me that it's time to start the thread for the upcoming season. Most of the new kids on the block have arrived on campus and we might have some other season related news breaking. So here's the spot this summer for reports/comments on things Hare's recovery, new players, speculation on the season and maybe news on special tournaments etc.

Yeah, last year you started the season thread at the end of May with news were going to play UConn. That was crazy early for a schedule announcement in my mind.
Might we get St. Thomas again? That might have been a two for one schedule thing. I think they had that 2 for 1 with the Badgers.

Thanks for kick starting this Boxter. I’m anxious to hear some of the news…sounds like Hare will be going full tilt in the fall. I’m wondering about Jackson and if her leg injury has healed. Crooks was walking wounded by the end of the season as well.

A coach's video review challenge in women's basketball was approved by the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel on Tuesday.
- Allowing players to complete a jump stop when their feet land approximately at the same time. This will be a legal move and will not be considered a travel. The NCAA Women's Basketball Rules Committee thinks this change can increase the accuracy on traveling rulings.
- Allowing defenders multiple one-hand (hot stove) touches on stationary players holding the ball or on a dribbler. These touches would be legal as long as they are not repetitive and do not affect the rhythm, speed, balance and quickness of the dribbler or reroute the offensive player.
LOL on the hot stove touches. That'll be abused and called differently every qtr and dependent on the teams that are playing.
Agreed…officials have been so inconsistent from one half to the next with basic rules…this one may as well say, “you’re allowed to slap the crap out of the ball handler.” (Tongue in cheek)
Anything that reduces the traveling calls in WBB is good. It seems like the men can get away with about anything in regards to "minor" traveling violations and other dribbling infractions that used to be called a generation ago. But when watching the women, it seems like there are 6-8 traveling calls per game where it is a very minor foot-shuffle.
I realize its not funny but it did make me laugh, because of the accuracy.Regan Wilson after 1 quarter of playing point against WVU.
About as favorable a schedule as one could draw up. Pre-season it looks like four games with maybe ranked teams and three of those will be at Hilton.

I like this schedule. Actually pretty favorable for ISU for once.
Outside of Iowa who are you thinking of? My mind is still recovering from vacation!
Baylor and WVU are likely and maybe KSU. I was going with the 4 games against those three. But KSU is iffy so it could be only two ranked opponents. TCU and OSU could sneak into the rankings and maybe added some Tier 1's. The league is historically weak.
Iowa may not be ranked, maybe just outside. I might be selling Iowa short with them adding Emely Rodriguez but they are likely to be better later than early so thinking not ranked when we play. I do think it will be good game in Hilton, would a good one for a national audience.
We will be the overwhelming favorite to take 1st come this fall.

Ahhh…I misread and thought you were referring to the non-con when you said pre-season (as in pre conf season). Like I said…I’m tired.
