Anybody who can actually play. 2 girls who rebounded and 1 ( Kelsey) who scrapped are gone. Roster seems haphazard after Crooks/Brown. Jada will help but looking weak at Forward and 3rd scorer.

Who are the rebounders we lost? Hansford! Nope. Ryan? Decent at 3.9 rpg. Joens? 2.9rpg. Ryan’s numbers can be covered as Jada Williams numbers are nearly identical. Joens is mid pack on the team and should be covered easily. Roster is actually pretty solid with Crooks, Brown, J. Williams, Hare, Harris, etc. all proven scorers. After that someone has to step up into the available minutes. The big questions in my mind are how this year's and next year's freshmen will impact things.

Ideally we would still add an athletic 6'2" forward that can rebound and defend at an elite level. This would give CBF roster flexibility we don't have right now and didn't have last year.

Another player who possibly could go on the list, but I'm leaving her off for now: Nikki Kerstein, a 2025 PG who just decommitted from Missouri. Both Latoja and Billy follow her on twitter, but only Billy's follow is new -- Latoja followed her back in her original recruiting period.

New follow for Billy on IG: Evangelia Paulk, in the portal out of Wofford (2 years remaining).

6'0" wing. 2025 SoCon POY and Defensive POY. 2024 SoCon FOY.

12.8 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.3 steals/game (#9 in all Div I).

Maybe a more realistic option than the unicorn 4 that's an elite scorer, elite rebounder, defensive stopper, 40% three shooter that so many seem to think is out there and not in the WNBA. ;)

Did see she really struggled to score versus Kentucky, Duke and South Carolina when they played teams not at Wofford's level. Still, if she can defend and rebound she would find minutes.

It's also easier to score when you play for a team with other elite offensive options.
Wasn't Rachael Rose uninjured and available when Wofford played Duke & USC? I believe she had decent games against the early season "high level competition", so Paulk really wasn't "going it alone". I feel bad for the Wofford's of the world in this new era - recruit and develop two conference Player of the Year recipients only to lose them in the same offseason. Ouch.

I have a friend in Spartanburg, SC - he didn't go to school at Wofford but he enjoyed watching their WBB team.

Ideally, she would be a couple inches taller, but it is getting too late to be picky. In watching her highlights, it appeared she is a decent athlete who would guard the 4 on the opposing team for Wofford. My guess she is a very smart defensive player more than an elite athlete. She also seemed to have good overall offensive skills. I could see her finding a role in our rotation because she offers a little different skill set than what we have on the roster now.

Wofford also had 359 assists on 687 made FG (compared to ISU's 675 assists on 959 FGM) so it doesn't seem like they had great ball distribution as a team.

I'm not claiming Paulk is a huge offensive force (her shooting percentage isn't very high), but the quality of your teammates can affect things a whole lot on offense.

Side note: ISU's 70.39% assist rate on made FG was #1 in the nation, just barely ahead of KSU (70.32%). I just discovered this while messing around in stathead.

She seems like what the team needs. Would love if she was 6'2", but she's a bit taller than Hare, Jackson, Tanke, Beaty & Jensen. More of a 3/4 than a 2/3 type. Fits the bill as a rebounder, especially on the offensive end. Even though she's not an efficient shooter- shooting 31.3% last season is closer to average than bad.

Hope the staff can convince her the Cyclones are a great fit.

I am really hoping CBF can pick up a true 4 to either allow Addy to shift to a 3 or back her up. With some of the latest gets it feels like an overload at the 1-3 based on height / ability. We have 3 5s… 4 feels like a weak point.

If the team could pick up a true 4 with height, it would really help.

But also, I am a fan, I don’t get to see the practice or how the team will gel.

True 4's with top talent are like unicorns. And 80% of the time they end up having to play post.

Makes me think of Hallie Christofferson. Maybe the best “4” we’ve ever had and too often relegated to the middle.

I was thinking about her to but she was really almost a big 3 considering her skill set.

Another would be Kristen Scott who would be a killer 4 if she was playing on this current team. She was always stuck playing post for us. I was hoping she might play her 5th year for the home state Gophers when she opted out of ISU at graduation with a year left.

Scott was battling issues with her back much of her senior season (if not longer), so I wasn't surprised she called it a day.
