Agree. He already knows the system and the the other players, and can build on where he left off this season.I'd much rather have Jefferson, than what the Jefferson money would get us on the open market to replace him. We'd be FAR worse off.

Probably extremely unlikely, but I think this would be a great move.Did Watson find a new team yet? Better get him on the phone and back in Ames if this all they plan on doing in the portal.
We have 3 very good players but the roster seems extremely thin now, especially if any injuries pop up. Hopefully at least 1 or 2 of the freshman are ready. If they end up being Omaha or Nojus level and not very good then we are in trouble depth wise.

Hard to see where all the scoring will come from if the roster is already set. Batemon better be ready to make a big impact offensively.
I dont think we'll ever be as bad as the first 2 years becuase Jefferson and Milan are elite offensive players. We also don't really know what kind of scoring Williams/Batemon of Toure will provide yet. We might be pleasantly surprised and one of them emerges as a legit scoring threat.I would not be really mad if we went back to being a brutal defensive team next season with our lack of scoring
We have the star players, and we need role players.I have no clue how much those guys got paid.
It feels like a lot of programs are moving forward and building better rosters, while we are going backwards because we can't afford big 12 caliber players
Thanks for having my backNo, not $600,000. It is $600. Virtually any NIL deal that would be signed will exceed that and require "review".
I changed it for you. Good for Jefferson Good for us.I don't blame Jefferson but I believe he drained our NIL money for new players. Good for Jefferson, GOOD for us.
The problem is we lost Gilbert and Jones without replacement unless it's by committee. Then the problem is TJ only usually goes 8 deep leaving who to cover those points? We have the star players, and we need role players.
Were better. People always neglect to recognize the growth in players that allow them to take the next step and be the guy. I've seen that growth in Jefferson, Lipsey and Momcilovic. That's a strong start. The problem is we lost Gilbert and Jones without replacement unless it's by committee. Then the problem is TJ only usually goes 8 deep leaving who to cover those points?
Milan and Lipsey are better not being #1 options on offense.
Unless we somehow land another shooter/scorer or Williams combined with Bateman can be a big surprise, our best plan for next year will be to slow the tempo and muck it up on defense.
This is pretty much spot on. We’re at best 6th or 7th in spending in the conference. In the salary era, that is going to have an impactI have no clue how much those guys got paid.

His parents didn't want that long drive to his home games.A walk-on guard out of Wisconsin announced last week. Must like winter weather to de-commit from Hawaii Hilo![]()
The Mormon vs Baptist Holy War has begun!
To be fair, Gilbert wasn’t anywhere close to 100% for the majority of the year. The problem is we lost Gilbert and Jones without replacement unless it's by committee. Then the problem is TJ only usually goes 8 deep leaving who to cover those points?

Still an all- conference player. No matter how you cut it, that guy isn't on our team yet. Maybe one of the freshman. But would be very optimistic to say it would be next yearTo be fair, Gilbert wasn’t anywhere close to 100% for the majority of the year.
Not to derail the convo but Heupel called his bluffAgree, but I would suspect while JJ got a nice double bump in the end, it also took more money to keep Lipsey and Momcilovic in the fold vs. last season. Even if they weren't aggressively testing the open market, I would think the staff understood the market and made them feel wanted.
It's a pretty crazy NIL world. I saw where Tennessee's starting QB stopped attending spring practices and is holding out for $4M annually vs. the $2M annual long-term deal he agreed to coming out of HS.
