Sure... but did you read my post?

I'm watching the Final Four right now... and I watched the title game in college football this year too... but do you think I'll watch if ISU basically no longer exists for the most part.... nope. If it's just the rich schools that exist at some point... will the rest of the country care?? We shall see?
If Iowa State is on tv I will always watch no matter what level they are playing at

It's not illegal for the kid's agent to test the market as far as I know.
And that is the work around, the school is not contacting the kid, they are talking to his agent, and then the agent tells the kid what is going on. Much like schools looking to hire a new coach. A coach under contract cannot talk to another team without informing his current school, so they take offers from schools through an agent, and if interested, they go to the AD and ask permission to interview for the job.

Not sure how they are going to get the toothpaste back in the tube, but something Is going to have to be done. If it means making them employees and signing contracts that is what is going to have to been done. Can anyone image every player in the NFL or MLB being a free agent after every season? How much does Mahomes make if he can go to another team after the season, every year?

We’ve been having some of our best seasons in the last few years. Relax my friend.

Lol, I got ripped for saying he would leave. Big offers are out there for him. This is the era we are in now with NIL

Well those are gone now. We’ll be competitive with TJ here, but we are at too much of a disadvantage. We will look more like the first TJ team next year.

This.

This is all going extremely well for the programs that can afford to play at this level. There is no slowing down this train. Sobering day.

And no, nothing is changing or getting fixed Monday.
Agree, I'm not sure why it would slow down, you can still get NIL on top of what the school pays you. Sure there might be restrictions but big schools will figure out a way. It might even get worse.

You were just saying you follow ISU less closely but still watched the Final Four.
I'm saying I still watch because as of this moment I feel like ISU is able to compete somewhat in college athletics... but maybe I'm being too optimistic in that feeling? I feel like without the injuries our MBB team could have possibly made it to the Final Four with few breaks. The WBB was competitive, etc, etc.

But if we just continue to lose our best players... and eventually all that is left is the B1G and SEC... and everyone else is in a separate lower level league.... I will not be watching any of this crap. Guarantee you.

And I've watched less college football and basketball this year than any other year I can ever remember... and it has actually been pretty great.

If it is 3 mil, I’d bounce too. Like crazy money. He will never see the ncaa tournament but man, that’s life changing.
I'm bouncing for ,3-400k if we're only paying him say 100k. Go Louisiana for a few months and play 30 basketball games for six figures? Where to I sign up? No more freezing my ass of in Iowa too? 3-400 k is life changing for most. You'd have to be a ******* moron to stay at ISU

If you think TJ is going to just sit back and play this game every year I've got some news for you. These are the types of things that cause coaches to do things you would have never thought possible.

I'm going to disagree with the this is less of a big deal than Hunter just because someone was waiting in the wings for Hunter's departure. This roster has some MASSIVE holes even with Jefferson in it. Jefferson is a huge, huge loss.
Yes, it was going to be a really challenged roster even with JJ. Lot of holes.

Covid was my first real wake-up to there being so much more to do than sitting around watching college football and basketball. Every year with NIL it just keeps getting easier and easier. There’s better things to do with my time.

The salary cap is $20.5M as soon as the district court settlement is approved with the exception of legitimate NIlL cleared through the clearinghouse.
I'll be skeptical of how legitimate the clearing house will be until I see the results with my own eyes.
