Zeke might need to look for a mid-major (edit: Zeke is out of eligibility) AJ was a huge bust for Rock Chalk.
Oh, I thought for sure Zeke had another year left.

Absolutely hilarious that AJ Storr is the only player who played at all this year still on the roster today.

Start up the Bill Self retirement rumors again!

I haven't watched a complete basketball game in months. I haven't watched a total of 100 minutes of the NCAA tournament. I honestly barely care any more. I gamble and check the scores in the morning. Seriously, guys tearing it up in the tournament, on a good team, may not even be on the same team next year. I just can't. I'm not mad...it just is what it is.
My viewing of CFB and MBB outside of ISU has plummeted. Basically nonexistent.

Almost as though the average age of the coaches in the Final Four is 52, and coaches learn and evolve over the course of their careers?… And declaring a ceiling on a program whose coach doesn’t even have a half decade of head-coaching experience at a P4 school under his belt is a bit premature?
Ha I mean you can move the goalpost to blame it on whatever you want. Sure, go for age as an excuse. Offensive schemes aren't unlocked like some sort of prize once you reach a certain age or experience level of coaching. They have entire staffs to work on these things. I'm sure TJ would admit himself that they needed to be better in the halfcourt offense.

Suggesting they need to improve the halfcourt offense isn't a hater take - it's honest. It's ok to say things need to get better. You can in-fact still be a fan, and understand not everything is rainbows and butterflies.

I still watch becuase I can't stand the NBA and I love basketball, but it sure isn't how it used to be. It just feels like a cheap, sleezy, watered down version of what used to be a great product.

I've still got MLB and the NFL though since they haven't found a way to completely screw those up yet. They are trying with the NFL though by adding more regular season games.

shooting 34% on 4 3 attempts per game does not compare to Cujo shooting 36% on 8 3 attempts per game. Abdi Bashir Jr. from Monmouth would be my Cujo comparison.
This page shows 34.5 3-pt% on 113 shots, and 84% on free throws in 24-25 season and that was with an injured wrist on his shooting hand. n=113 is sufficiently large enough sample size for me. Before the injury, he was primarily an outside shooter but started driving more because he couldn't shoot long distance as well.

Assuming the addition of Rohde we've added 4 white guys this offseason to go with one already in the starting lineup. Are we becoming Iowa?? Did Fran somehow leak into our program after he got canned?? The exciting whites are here! Kidding. Sort of...

Would be lying if I said I'm not just a little concerned about the defensive pressure successfully returning from 2-3 seasons ago. I'll wait to hopefully be pleasantly surprised. Although a lot of TJ's defensive scheme relies on being in the right position, and good anticipation. Hopefully with a lack of raw athleticism across the roster, they can excel in those areas.
Someone in another thread pointed out that Houston hasn’t had a white guy average over 20 mpg since 2014. That has to be intentional, right? That doesn’t just accidentally happen. Anyway, I like our additions, think we improve defensively and turn the ball over way less with the ball being in Rohde and Buchanan’s hands instead of Dish, Keshon and Curt.

Bball I watch Cyclones and then some Big 12 games. It's winter there isn't always much else going on. Football I watch only Cyclone games and then there is way more stuff I'd rather be doing. Sometimes I'll watch late night Big 12 games while I'm doing other stuff but I have a hard time giving up my nice fall weekends sitting inside. I don't even always watch the Vikings anymore. If anything I'll just listen to them while doing stuff in the shop and if the game gets close I'll go watch the last several minutes

Is this a troll?… Iowa State was a 2 seed two seasons ago and would’ve been one this season had it avoided one of four major injuries and illness

No I’m not a troll. You are seeing how NIL is quickly evolving and has evolved more even in the past year. It’s going to continue to evolve for the worse.

Mad Fran is confused by this strategy.

It sucks that we weren’t better then, but college basketball was amazing in the 1990s and 2000s. Sad we won’t get that back.

The team was never healthy last year, a healthy Cyclones team was looking like a strong Final 4 team early in the year then Milan got injured, Lipsey was banged up most of the conference season then Gilbert.
Very few teams are fully healthy the whole season.

Seasons are often attritional. That was one of KU’s biggest advantages when they had the near monopoly on stacking talent

Now it favors the deepest pockets, although it’s recruiting, so you can get lucky and hit on overlooked players

Any updates on Transfer Portal players? besides Rodhe who didn't like his interview with ISU and is on a visit or being interviews by Wisonsin which sucks. Anybody else you can see ISU getting? Hoping for a gaurd
I had heard something about this. I’m not sure it was Rohde that didn’t like the interview.

I don't know who else it could've been. Who else are we currently interviewing? Rohde is the only person I've seen who we are actively targeting.

Tell us more about how he "didn't like his interviews".

Did they ask his favorite color? Did they ask "which would you rather be, a doorknob or a blade of grass?"

Let me guess, they asked him to disclose any weaknesses and he said he was a perfectionist?

Wow didn't hear this. Where did this info come from out of curiosity?
Not 100% sure, but I've heard it from a few people. There is an article on Cyclone Alert that is accessed by joining a VIP membership which I can't access. It's the update on Rohde, and I'm assuming there is something on that in the article. Again, I've only heard it from people.
