Omg!!!! Butler and Washington St??? One of the worst teams in the Big East and a middling WCC program? They couldn't even finish ahead of San Francisco or Santa Clara in that conference.

You dont understand how any of this works do you? Those would both be Quad 2 opportunities and they would remove 2 quad 4 games.

I at no point said those teams were good but you can't see the value of 1 more Quad 2 win vs playing some slap **** Quad 4?

So, half-time of the TT @ Ariz. State Game (Big XII on ESPN), they showed highlights from 4 SEC Geams, a Big East Game and showed a B1G score. Never understand this, show Big XII highlights at the half of a Big XII Game!

I'd love to get to some other conference tournaments some time. I'd really like to see the Big East.
Agree, not sure if it is quite what it was like back in the day at its peak when teams like Syracuse & Louisville were still in the league but think it would still be worth the time/money to go to.

Absolutely

I think your the one not understanding how this works. Missouri St was fine scheduling those 2 games becuase they didn't have anywhere close to quality of teams in their Thanksgiving tournament that Drake did.

Why would Drake schedule those when they already had the K-State and 3 games over Thanksgivng?

Literally nobody would do this. Should we have scheduled better since we ended up playing Dayton and Colorado instead of Uconn and Michigan State?

You also said they need to do this to show "if they have something before conference starts". So what happens if they lost 4 out of the 5 like Arizona and then went 17-3? You would be complaining that they didn't beat any of those teams and shouldn't be in. They would have had to win at least 2 or 3 out of those to appease you, but thats an impossible task for most mid-majors except maybe Gonzaga.

You want it both ways. That's the exact reason these MVC teams don't schedule better.

Drake's non-conference schedule was ranked 251st and Missouri States was ranked 285th. Your example doesn't even backup your claims at all.

I was in NYC during the Big East Tournament back in 1995, and I went to the Garden to scalp a ticket (pre-secondary market days), and a nice Police Officer let me know that scalping in or around MSG is not permitted. That ended that venture!

However, I have been to the A-10 Tournament in Cincinnati (GW beat St. Joe's in the Final) and ACC Tournament in Atlanta (FSU beat UNC in the semis). Have not been to Big XII Tournament yet, but it is on my To Do List!
