I know it’s a bar but can minors be in there with adults around 6:00 pm not late at night? For some reason I think I brought my sister there when she was a teen but that was a long time ago.

Yes. While I don't know the "rule", we were there this fall with a group that included kids (middle school and below).

Is the Pizza Pit still upstairs? I'm not sure I ever saw a minor or kids downstairs and I drank there every Sunday from 2001-2004. Upstairs was a different story

Yep still up there.
I know I've seen minors at WAS, just unsure of the cutoff time..
That place is a campustown landmark. It still pisses me off People's closed and I rarely went there. Every now and again on Tea Night or MNF specials. I still can't believe the Keg Shop is gone. Getting beer on fire sale was the best.

I was there one time and Stacy Eustachy brought her kids in to watch Larry coach at one of his stops after ISU. I think it was Southern Miss game. Only place in town that had the game probably.

Just there last week before the Colorado game. Trent was there serving up drinks. That guy seems like he's always there and has been since I was in college over 20 years ago.

I've taken my 13 year old son there before after a bball game but it was from like 2-4 PM. Not sure about 6 PM.

I think she's still in Ames. Always heard she loved the town.

This question could easily be answered by just calling Welch Ave Station and asking too.

General answer is yes I know they do allow minors in since they serve food but I am sure there is a cutoff time. Especially on busy nights like Friday and Saturdays I would think that cutoff time would be enforced a little stricter because of the college age crowd that starts to trickle in as the night gets later.

Was always my favorite bar, is Brooke Burke still on the wall in the men's room?
Yes she is but I recall a few years back that maybe it was CW that reported someone broke the glass display and stole her but someone was kind enough to find another to replace it? It's by far my favorite bar in Ames still today but have not been able to get up to Ames early enough this BB season to get my fill of Pizza Pit and Welch. With the last 2 homes games at 8pm probably going to finally make that visit 1 or both of the games.

Keg Shop Fire Sales. When I discovered what this was, I felt like I found life's greatest cheat code.

Obviously. Forgive me for simply wanting wanting to choose posting here. And look what’s started, a thread talking about memories and how it’s a favorite bar. The humanity.
