2025-2026 Recruiting

I heard from a pretty decent source that Iowa was very close to getting David Taylor as their coach, Bob had an offer sheet out to him or they were about to offer when he went to OSU.

Idk about that…certainly not for the HC if there is any substance to it.

OSU also has been recruiting very well.

Obviously they haven’t done anything at nationals yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them get 2nd this year in year 1 of David Taylor.
My opinion isn’t worth two nickels but I would be surprised if they got second. They don’t have a national title lock on their squad. The hawks don’t either, but Ayala and Buchanan look like finalists at this point with caliendo and teemer as a decent probability. Hamiti and Plott are behind 2 greats each and same with Hendrickson - their three best bets to make the finals

I personally think Hamiti at 174 can give those top two a run for their money.

I’m with you, I don’t know if OSU has a finalist, but Hendrickson and Hamiti are going to be huge bonus scorers and they have legitimate shots to have All Americans at 125, 157, 165, 174, 184, 197, 285.

I don’t think they will get much out of 133 or 149 though.

Will KOT be back this year?

125 and 165 both play a risky game of keeping it close and winning with 1 takedown. That’s been known to bite guys in a tournament but I agree with you they look to have a bunch of AA’s. We also know that all too well after Yonger last year, anything can happen

So this changes the subject slightly but it’s kind of interesting to think about. With David Taylor obviously making waves on the recruiting front, being who he is. Who is the next bigtime guy to try and head up a D1 program?

I wanna say Iowa state lol. David Carr and Jordan Burroughs are really close and then Carr brings his buddy Aaron Brooks too. One can only dream

Tom is doing what Bob is instructing him to do.

Based on what I've seen and understand, Bob doesn't have the chops for this. He's a money guy. Total Brands boot licker.

I think it's ridiculous you don't understand how rivals flip each other crap all the time in sports

I understand the concept. I don't understand the content. I can't bring myself to mock Iowa for doing what I wish ISU could do. It's weak ass, hollow trash talk.

Daton Fix would make a great coach I think, he is a great kid regardless of your stance on his wrestling. Joey McKenna has had a ton of experience. Yianni D is one that would draw a ton of attention when he decides to go into coaching. Jason Nolf if he would've stuck with wrestling, maybe he will come back. JB and Kyle Dake are obvious ones. Ringer, Alex has a pretty big name still and had a lot of success internationally. Mason Parris will carry a lot of weight with him when he goes into coaching. If JB and Dake don't go into college coaching, the answer for me is Kyle Snyder - he's going to make waves.
