*** Official #4 Auburn vs #5 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Attack? I take it you missed the last 3 minutes of the game huh? To bad, it was a great game....

I hope this team is closer to the first half version than the second half. Cause man that was some ugly ugly play in the second half. Gave up 50 points! That's not acceptable for a team with the offensive limitations we seem to still have in the halfcourt

This was the 4th game of the year and we went toe to toe with a final four team. Yes, we had them down 16 at one point but basketball is a game of runs. Auburn made a big run and we couldn’t counter it. Life goes on, this team will improve even more, but they are really ******* good
We're going to get a lot better as the season goes on. It's really, really early. But I love this team's potential.

I think we will be really good, prob won't lose at home either.

But there are a couple red flags that are very similar to last year. Half court detail and disclipline offensively and the stretch 4 issue. It's really early though, hard to read much into these games this early.

I wouldn't be concerned about the half court issues if it wasn't a problem tj has always had.

Still early, these games mean almost nothing really.

He wasn't. He wasn't on the floor during their 16-2 run or whatever either. We have been told all offseason that Milan stepped up his defensive game. Why is he not on the floor? I guess that's for the coaches to defend.
He did seem to be forcing that turn around a couple times tonight. Maybe that's a reason?

This team is 8 seed material
The worst case scenario you can take from this game is that Auburn probably would’ve won by 10 or so had Baker-Mazarro not gotten injured in the first half. If that’s 8 seed material you must not think Auburn is very good

I just hate holding the ball out of the timeout. It puts you at such a disadvantage to not start your set until there is 6 seconds left. No opportunity for secondary looks and ball movement. Just run offense and if you have a shot take it. Either way they were going to have plenty of time to get a shot off.

I just can’t understand the logic behind making them guard for 6 seconds instead of 20 seconds

Great basketball game to watch, sure its frustrating the way we finished and the long draught coming out of the 2nd half, but its a great opportunity for the team to learn about their weaknesses and what their strengths are. No one is going to discount us for a 2 point loss to between the #4 and #5 ranked teams.
