Up to #17 in AP

Hopefully KState sneaks back into the CFP rankings. Then a few more upsets and an ISU win over KState might be enough to move ISU up to # 12 as a CFP backup plan in case ISU doesn't get into the CCG.

I don’t think it’s possible. I think only the Big 12 champion gets in. I was actually just thinking through whether or not the Texas Tech loss hurt us. We won’t have a chance to play a top 25 team until the championship game. Would the CFP take a two loss team who hadn’t beaten a top 25 team? I don’t think so. I’m almost certain Ole Miss and Alabama would have still been above us in that scenario (because of better wins). Ironically in that scenario playing in the championship game would have potentially hurt us. I don’t think Indiana would win a BIG conference championship for instance…and would not make the CFP with two losses.

Had BYU gone into the championship game with one loss, I think they would have been in line to make it at this point…because of their win over SMU.

I agree - that makes no sense. BYU should be a couple spots higher.
Tulane's only real loss was at OU, and it was before all of OU's players got hurt and the Wave played them tough into the 4th quarter.

They beat kstate. Their winning td called back for a phantom offensive pass interference by big 12 refs who didn't want to seer one of the big 12 frontrunners derailed early.

No, they lost to K-State. I looked at them yesterday…wondering if they had a shot. They don’t have a good win.

Yet every single one of these teams (except MAYBE Texas A&M) will be ranked ahead of 2 loss Big 12 teams in the CFP because of "SECSEC is a gauntlet!"

In before the committee ranks OU and Florida (and probably Auburn) so those losses become “quality” ones.

Also really interesting about UMass - they played three SEC opponents this year. They should probably get honorary SEC membership.

You probably think Seneca was short, Yelk was wide right, and Shirley initiated contact on a defender with position…

The official record of sporting events is meaningless.

The truth is Tulane’s schedule is simply poor compared to any big 12 team and with the same record it’s kind of absurd for them to be in front of BYU. It’s not like Boise St where the one loss is to #1.

Heh. I’m not defending thst. However, it’d be hypocritical of me to correct a Green Wave fan who insists they beat KSU this year while I sport a “2000 NCAA Tournament Champions” Cyclone tattoo on my left bicep.
