Jury Duty

Of course there are a myriad of other factors, but for one of them to outweigh someone being a "100% nutbar" and "I got cut. She made the final jury. I have no idea what the prosecutor was thinking. There's not a chance in hell she was going to side with the police. She flat out said so", it's logical and likely that Janny's evaluation of at least the lady was not correct.
I would have tried to remove her for cause if she made statements to the effect that she couldn't be fair and impartial. No need to exercise a strike when you have other options. How prosecutors use strikes can sometimes serve as the grounds for an appeal (though usually not successfully).

But yes, she doesn't sound like someone I'd want empaneled. Also, in fairness, I saw some of Janny's posts in the thread and thought I had caught them all when I had not.

We don't know the prosecutor's level of competence. If it was someone like this guy...

Well my divorcing clients settled last night so I don't have to go to court today. Hooray

But they are still getting billed for the hours of prep I had to do.
Here I was hoping for a report on how it went (no breaches of confidentiality of course). My favorite is when a lawyer who doesn't understand accounting or tax principles asks stupid questions. Of course, both of your peeps may have had ones who do understand such things.

I also wonder if everyone involved thought she was putting on a show to try to get out of jury duty and just ignored her (and maybe she was)

To be completely honest I was worried about stupid questions and the attorney's not understanding basic concepts (based on the list of questions they provided) and then being classified as a "hostile witness". LOL

Or maybe you could have made them look silly like this:

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No..
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.
