Our history

Huh? He asked if we needed to trade going 3-9 one season to go 10-0 the next.. and I said I'm sure anyone would trade for that because we were used to poor seasons in the past. Nowhere did I say I wanted us to become a consistently bad team.
I was responding directly to your response.

I didnt know Indiana was a shoe in for hosting a playoff game. Good for them.

We did go 4-8 two seasons ago, so we pretty much did. I think anyone in here would trade a 3-9 to go host a CFB playoff game the following year. We're used to 3-9 seasons anyways.

We're used to 3-9 seasons?

So, you want a bunch of losing seasons?

How do you know Indiana will host? What if they lose two games?

No, but the person I'm replying to asked if I'd trade going 3-9 for next season being 10-0 or what Indiana is doing now.
Weird hypothetical question as there is never any correlation between the two.

Regardless, people shouldn’t look at Indiana and EXPECT similar results when their results are an outliner

That seemed great about a month ago. Rocco needs high end receivers to be successful. Chances of that happening via the portal are dwindling

That can be said about any QB. You don’t have guys that can get separation and hold onto the ball, you won’t look good as a qb

Portal doesn’t even open for another month for most players

We just looked much slower and unathletic against a 2 win Kansas team, I envy anyone who still thinks we’re winning 10 games.

Kansas is not a bad team. They have very good players all over the place. They just played bad at key moments that cost them 3 or 4 wins. They could have easily had 6 or 7 wins coming into this game if a 1 or 2 things bounced differently in their losses.

This isn’t a 2 win no talent Kansas team of old that didn’t even have the same amount of scholarship players as the rest of the teams they played.

Do you think one leads to the other? I'd guess Indiana has a 'sit down' moment with tOSU next week and then we'll see how they end up.

Remember KU was one of the favs to win the conference. They’ve played quite well the past few games so they are rising to the expectations. In our case we are regressing to the expectations. Prior to the season I’d have been happy with 7-5. I honestly thought 6-6 would be more likely. But starting fast has spoiled us and seeing us start the swirly slide down the toilet is hard and frustrating.

How about this: when you score in the 30’s and have close to 500 yards offense maybe the problem is on the D. Specifically the 5-3-3 alignment. Worked pretty good when a 1st round NFL rush end applies pressure and your 3 starting LB’s are on the field instead of inexperienced LB’s not ready yet. I think the wide open underneath throws along with the sideline’s covered by LB’s are the weak part of the 5-3-3 along with no pressure. It worked for a couple years but Coach H doesn’t want to blitz so opposing OC’s are exploiting the weak points. They can beat Cinncy & K St at home if Coach H will adjust in the first half instead of waiting until halftime. KU is a legit team, we’ve got one or two wins possible yet.

Our coaches are not helping Rocco since teams have dialed up to pressure
Rocco had 383 yards passing and scored 36 points. They didn’t lose today because of the OLine. They lost today because the defense got exposed. KU was running a lot of post snap motion; the defense couldn’t get a read. The very young linebacker corp, who have been thrusted into the lineup all year due to many injuries from the veteran LB’s, were slow to make their reads or made the wrong reads. The safeties had miscommunication many times as well. These are young adults. They will make mistakes. They will also learn from these mistakes.

Basically, they lost because of the defense, not because the O Line couldn’t handle the KU pressure

Can we stop with the “this is the best we’ve ever had and we cannot expect any better talk?” Some might not know this, but Jim Walden and Donnie Duncan didn’t have the facilities, fan support, $$ that we have now, and they played a tougher schedule back then. It’s just a dumb comparison. That is all.
Put your money where your mouth is. I’m a Campbell guy, but I also have 2 kids in college, one at Loyola Chicago and I don’t have an extra dime to pop into the program than I ready do. I buy Ames Lager when I can. The cyclone club gets my donation without tickets this year because I’m in Illinois and my other daughter is at ISU. It’s not like I’m doing all I can. I’m fine with winning seasons.

Throwing more money at a problem doesn’t fix it.

I also don’t think it helps with how short he is. There were open check downs today they were open and he didn’t/couldnt see them and took a sack.
