Yeah, this has been, by far, the biggest headscratcher relative to B12 interest in UConn. Why in the hell is this now popping up after the new Big East deal was announced on 6/27 with Fox, NBC/Peacock and TNT/Max.Fox reportedly opposes UConn joining Big 12
Not a great source but with the big east deal recently finalized I was wondering about this.
If Fox contributes any money toward B12 payouts to UConn, they will and should get sued by the Big East, NBC/Peacock and TNT/Max. And that hopefully nips UConn talk to the B12 in the bud for both BB and FB until 2031 when the new Big East deal expires and the B12 FB/BB deals can be bifurcated.
My thought too. I would be curious if UConn gave the go ahead for the big east deal. Did they sign a GOR? The timing is weird.
If the Big East GOR is like the B12's, UConn's GOR buyout would be around $42M plus any exit fees. But based on other info I've read, their exit/GOR fee is $15M with 27 months notice.

Fans are usually way more delusional. I would expect it to be way more P2 heavy.
I read an article from a Clemson paper this week about which conf should each team in the ACC go to. Choices were SEC or B1G, not B12, and everyone they chose went to those 2, with the exception of the 3 new adds, they dumped them in the B12.
They did at least hint that it was never going to happen. But to even joke that BC or Wake ect would get invited to the B1G or SEC is ridiculous, let alone put it on paper.
It only makes sense to see how fans think.
Clearly a lot of FSU fans are understandably angry at Big Ten/SEC...but we know that would change when the get an invite.
The craziest example of this was a majority of Utah fans acting as if the MWC would be better than Big 12 from their BYU hatred. Obviously few of them would actually make that call, they just said it out of spite.
Putting Stanford to the Big 12 shows what kind of a joke this can become.
I don’t think there’s going to be many, if any schools with four top 10 losses. Their schedules are never that hard.
Yeah, the only way that happens is if the Superleague rapture happens and the Big12 essentially becomes the NCAA, with everybody but the big 20-ish brands.
Agree with this only with FSU/Florida taking the place of the Utah schools.
What’s also interesting is this is from a couple weeks ago, I honestly thought those numbers looked that way due to the GT loss. Interesting to see.

I don’t think the ACC expected money to go up when they locked in the highest per team media contract. I think the Big12 was briefly the highest paid as well. A lot can change. No one expected the Big12 to make anywhere close to what it is now without Texas and Oklahoma.
While I believe in live sports being a catalyst for viewers, I think this is mostly true. Big 12 media rights will continue to increase but only proportionally to everyone else. But if CVC is right, what do we need them for?Dennis Dodd article on the UConn interest.

I mean I wouldn’t flash that much around here. We are on that list of the top-25 most overrated. And yes it’s only because of our preseason ranking for 2021.
