I’ve become enamored with the 2024 mustang electric. Someone talk me out of it. Specifically looking at the Premium. We will still have a large SUV and truck. This is an extra to use when the charging won’t be inconvenient (ie not taking it on long trips).

You’d have Tesla charging network for trips on day one with an adapter, if they don’t throw it in it’s only $200. I already bought my adapter even though my model won’t work until Q1 2025.
If you have two other cars and drive less than 50 miles a day you probably won’t even need to upgrade to level 2 if you don’t have the outlet already.
You'll end up taking it on long trips and you will find out it's not a big deal to stop for a few extra minutes while you use the bathroom and get some snacks.
I thought the same thing as you when I got my Tesla. It didn't take but one trip to realize that it really doesn't take any longer to charge than the normal stop. Longer than just filling up the tank, yes, but not longer than filling up, using the restroom, buying snacks, stretching your legs.
We have the 22 Premium Extended Range. I've never had a vehicle more fun to drive.
It does suck however with more than 2 people up front and 2 toddlers in the back as it relates to having enough space.
The Blue Cruise is awesome if that's included. F paying for it though.
They are super fun to drive. Have a coworker that has one, I’ve sold a few myself. Never been in a vehicle that gets to 90 mph that fast. Premium is a good choice. The GT comes with basically racing slicks so not a great choice for snow. The one I can’t wait to see is the all new rallye package
Have started seeing a couple cybertrucks around WDM. One has a black wrap so I know it’s at least 2

My son in St Louis bought a 2024 model Y. He is anal about researching vehicles prior to purchase. Came down to the Y versus Lexus & the Y was cheaper. Charging is not an issue but he has an electrician coming to install a 220 service. I won’t list his economic analysis for maintenance and operation but for commuting in a metro, it’s a no brainer.
Been kicking around the idea of an EV as a second, around-town car. Don't think we put enough miles on our second car to make it work

I don't think it was way ahead of its time. I think it was an overly complex car that Chevy didn't know how to market, dealers didn't want to sell, and consumers had no clue of it's purpose. I remember reading an article where the majority of owners didn't even charge it. People talk about how great of commuter car it was but it was priced like a Tesla Model 3 is priced today, which is a LOT better commuter car.
With that said, it was an awesome deal for those that bought them used at bargain basement deals.
Just my take as someone who has never owned or driven one
