Most people complaining need to realize they are best friends and neighbors outside of the podcast. There’s probably little they discuss that hasn’t been discussed before between themselves.

I do find it funny when CW will tell a story about something he did or went to for 4th podcast in a row and Blum plays dumb and reacts like it’s the first time he’s hearing it. That’s a good friend.

Folks, I HATE having pay subscriptions to anything, but when I factored in all of the hours of enjoyment/entertainment I get from Cyclonefanatic, I realized $12/month subscription was an absolute bargain. Seriously.

Note: I receive no compensation whatsoever for this testimonial.

What topics would you like covered that we haven’t discussed recently? That would be helpful to know.
Get Jamie on and do a joint interview. I'm sure that would do well in "listens" also.

You are very kind! But seriously we appreciate all feedback and if we’re missing a topic that could be interesting for listeners, that’s our job to cover. We don’t want to rehash the same topics over and over just to fill time.
Would love to hear what your expected two deep for Iowa State will be this year from what you are hearing. Obviously this is subject to change. As a sicko these are these are the sorts of things that get me excited even if you end up being wrong.

Duh!
Not very eloquently put, but there is something here. The ad reads have gotten very, very long. When CW starts a read on a sponser he really likes and knows personally, it can go on for several minutes. It's not the number of ads, but the length of time for each one.

Edit: I want to add that It's not that big of a deal, and I know ads pay the rent. I think it's extra noticeable during the summer when there's not much going on.
Fair. You can also fast forward through them.

Chris Williams and Brent Blum dive into fall camp news, hype videos, and more.

Enjoy!

The topics I don't enjoy as much all seem to be Chris's favorite pass times: car racing, pro wrestling, country music, and drinking. :)
JJ McCarthy isn’t a former Cyclone ;)
I don't listen to all the pods, but the ones I do, I usually enjoy. I like the opinions, detail and the depth covered on our Cyclones. I think the pods a great.

I don't mind going off the track some, as long as it's not too long (CW with his other interests, etc), that's OK, and adds personality. Who doesn't want to hear about the Vikings, racing, and pro wrestling, right?

The one thing I will mention again (and CW is getting better but still reverts back to old habits), CW still interrupts the other person (in this case Brent) a bit too often. The other person might be in the middle of a good thought or sentence, and bam! It gets to the point where you are just waiting for it to happen rather than just listening to the content.

It's something that needs to improve IMO, especially now that you are on YouTube also. Perhaps Aiden, the 'new kid on the block', could be the gentle reminder to CW, when it occurs?

I figure, Chris and Brent do this twice a week, often during "off" hours. Offer it for free. They have to give preference to their subscribers by NOT revealing info that others are paying for. They make their ads conversational, and ads are a necessity for free content. I'm just so glad they do these. I mean, after all, I am a Cyclone Fanatic!

People shouldn’t be ********. But it IS a business. They aren’t doing it for free out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s obviously worth it or they wouldn’t do it.

People are always going to complain and most of those times they really have nothing to complain about. But that’s what happens when you are a public figure.

Hey Brent, enjoy the work that all you do. Thanks for understanding and trying to work with us. I really appreciate the content and understand the ads. Gotta pay the bills.

With that, I think something that would be interesting and cool would to deep dive in the scheme/positions and how it works. From there, see what personal we have and what strengths and weaknesses that scheme has. Wrap it up with what teams it would work well with and then what times it could give ISU fits. Something like that would really ease the no game yet tension.

Believe it or not we are all students of this game and enjoy hearing how this all works!

i think theres a line between complaining and constructive feedback, even if on a "free" product

i hope this thread has leaned more the latter

I think woody and Mahoney would be far better at this than cw and Blum if that’s what you’re looking for. Especially during the season. While Woody can get a little long winded he goes into schemes very in depth.

CW mention Bruns will be back on Sundays during the season as well and he provides insane knowledge about what went right and what went wrong in the previous game.

As one who has moved all over this nation over my lifetime, I've always managed to find a way to watch our games; most alone, but some with local alumni groups. Not sure if it's possible, but it'd be rewarding to highlight 'remote' alumni groups during a small segment of the show. During which you can specify 'watch locations', 'regional popular alumns', 'local recruits on the radar which might be fun to watch', 'regional brews and food', 'regional tourist attractions', etc.

For example I recently watched the video about the golf complex in which they said one of the holes mimicked a Greenbrier hole (very near me). Of course there are all kinds of interesting locations very near me which one would never know about unless they were 'highlighted'. There are Cyclones everywhere with incredible things to share. Here's an example blurb of my locale.

"Today we're highlighting the West Virginia/Virginia southern mountain area. The Greenbrier resort houses a presidential bunker now open to the public. Just over the next ridge, is the Homestead with its renowned natural hot water spas used by our country's forefathers. Just up the road is the Green Bank Observatory (public tours daily); home to the largest movable telescope in the world and one of the few locations in the nation disallowing any wireless devices because of sensitivity of their equipment (their equipment can detect the electrical current of a snowflake hitting the ground). Just 20 minutes further in the hills is the largest ski resort in the Southeast (Snowshoe). Unique to Showshoe is that it is one of two in the nation which are 'inverted' (i.e. the village is at the top). So, for you remote Iowa Stater's in the southeast portion of West Virgina and the western portion of Virgina, you can catch your games at the Homestead grill."

Just a diversity thought!

One example for me is offensive coordinator talk. Iowa everywhere has had a ton of talk regarding their offense and new OC, even without direct information or any evidence. There is just very little shooting the **** about ours.

Hassel probably carries it and doesn’t have to worry about ruffling feathers, but things like that are pretty noticeable to me.
