It's now a race in Ankeny between our BBQ grill and what sounds like the mother of all storms. I don't think I've ever heard continuous uninterrupted thunder like I'm hearing right now. It's also getting darker and darker to the north of us.

Might be a simple answer to a dumb question, but how does a storm with 70mph wind only move 35mph?

Why does WHOTV13s weather radar app suck so bad? It's always about 20 minutes behind. And I refresh it constantly.

Wife looked at the future radar and she started blowing up air mats for the basement.

We were down there last night and looks like we'll be down there again. The littles do not like storms

You should blown up the mats. Let the wife blow up other things.

Yeah, it went really green 3-5 minutes later as the wind from the north picked up. Still green right now as it rains, but no visible hail from my window.

Not all wind is parallel to the surface, or in the direction of cell movement.
