In this scenario, that has a tiny chance of happening, it'd be 71m for those 3 and 61m per year for the rest, sign me up for that. Even if his outrageous scenario worked out like he suggests, I think his numbers are a bit high. What if it was 61m for the 3 and 51m, still...I'd sign up.In regards to unequal revenue sharing.
When it happens I will start to believe it, first this was written by a Clemson writer, both schools have to win their suit against the ACC before anything can happen and right now the ACC is not even willing to talk about a buyout, they are basically taking the position that we have a contract which you signed.SIAP... Hard no on unequal revenue distributions and special treatment for anyone. We just got rid of the last two schools that thought the conference revolved around them, I don’t think we need to recreate that dynamic. In regards to unequal revenue sharing.

ND is not going to join the Big 12
Don’t disagree but aren’t we at uneven distribution now?Hard no on unequal revenue distributions and special treatment for anyone. We just got rid of the last two schools that thought the conference revolved around them, I don’t think we need to recreate that dynamic.
The only reason any of them would want to come to the B12 is if the SEC and B10 pass on them and the B12 is a better deal than the ACC. I’d say that puts the B12 in a better negotiating position. Happy to have them, but they’re 1 of 18 (20? 22?), not #1 and then everyone else.
I think unequal because “you’re new here” is different than unequal because “we’re better/more valuable/etc than you”.Don’t disagree but aren’t we at uneven distribution now?
I don't believe any of these ideas of package deals. This stuff has never held true. UCLA left Cal, Oregon left OSU, UW left WSU, Okie left Okie Lite. The Texas publics in UT, ATM, and TT have all been moving independently. There were comments by the Kansas BOR during the first missile crises that while they would like to stay with KSU they wouldn't pass on a better opportunity just to stay together. Not sure why it's surprising that FSU and Clemson are not the top priorities of the Big10 & SEC. I still think there is a lot of interest by both conferences toward those schools, but other priorities come first.
The most valued schools are UNC & UVA. Both schools are in highly populated states, located in new territory and possess elite academics (that's the icing). The Big10 and SEC both realize they are going to have to pay full shares to both schools. And in the Big10's case- also a full share to ND. So they want to go into negotations with those schools with a full war chest.
Also don't know how much to believe some of the talk out there that UNC/NCST and UVA/VT are package deals. I doubt either the Big10 or SEC wants both schools in each state, but negotiatons typically include a lot of posturing.
Actually we do both right now.I think unequal because “you’re new here” is different than unequal because “we’re better/more valuable/etc than you”.
Who’s on the short side of “better”?Actually we do both right now.
We told cinci to accept less because you are new here. But then told Arizona state you get more than cinci because you’re better ( and because they wouldn’t come otherwise). How is that different than giving Clemson more? Again not saying I approve.I think unequal because “you’re new here” is different than unequal because “we’re better/more valuable/etc than you”.
True, but two key differences and a little context:Don’t disagree but aren’t we at uneven distribution now?
While I don’t think ND to the Big12 has any chance of happening I could actually see a world where Clemson and FSU came. Clemson has only ever been good under one coach whose star is fading in many people’s eyes. FSU might not be wanted in the SEC and also in the big ten so I could also see them needing a landing spot. It’s pretty obvious this is a ploy by the Yormak/Big 12 team to creat uneasiness in the ACC and college football in general. He knows we aren’t going to get Clemson of FSU right now. But we can get VT, Miami, NC state and Duke. Grab a combo of them and then you hold all the cards.
Isn’t everyone equal this upcoming season? We told cinci to accept less because you are new here. But then told Arizona state you get more than cinci because you’re better ( and because they wouldn’t come otherwise). How is that different than giving Clemson more? Again not saying I approve.
