The new uniforms definitely seem brighter. I doubt we got new helmets in a different color so hopefully it matches the new uniforms in real life. Can't really tell from the press release pics they released a couple months ago.
I kinda doubt Nike would screw it up and not fix it so I think it's intentionally lighter.

I hadn't thought about the cardinal helmets. I wonder if they get sent back to the factory each year for refurbishing? I so, they will have to go a lighter shade also, or get all new ones (with a lighter shade).
This gets more interesting as I think about it. Hopefully the jerseys and the helmets are the same color as before! If not, and the helmets don't get paired, we will have some pretty mismatched helmets.
Probably won’t ever use cardinal helmets. Just another reason to use the black ones more

The cardinal helmets are the coolest thing about our most recent uniforms. People really underestimate how much effect the bigger I-State (compared to Rhoads days) and the cardinal facemask have on our look.
No, they don’t. But our administration should. It should matter, a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Branding is a big freaking deal.
IF indeed we accepted a more generic shade of ‘red’ (like we used to pre-2007 when we made our first jump into the Nike ‘Elite’ level contract or whatever it was called back then) - then its most certainly a “money” thing, and if that’s the case, Pollard can suck it.
How right you are. The more they screw with the colors every year, the more they sell.
I’m leaning towards lighting being THE issue. You can put each games cardinal jersey we wore last season, side by side, and they all look like a different shade of red.
Yeah this, I really doubt we'd have to bend over and take whatever they gave us if they screwed it up. Surely they sent over samples and we approved them and we would have the opportunity to fix them so I think it's intentional. Good or bad.
I still think Nike screwed us with the new unis they gave us so who knows.
And maybe it's all just the color grading from the tweets.
Agree. I'll play around with white helmet bumpers on the cardinal helmets, but the recent past cardinal helmets are part of our custom look. The red bumpers, red facemask, black (or red) chinstrap.
I hesitate to change that look.
Really wish they would have flipped the gold and white on the home stripes, but it's still a solid look.
That would help a lot, but I think they'd look their best if the stripes didn't have white at all.
Yeah, that is definitely Cardinal as it should be, not red.
oh yeah, it looks great. I think I'm a fan of the 3 stripe look better, but i'm just being nitpicky at this point.
