Iowa State Uniform Discussions (update: new basketball unis)

They are ok I guess.

As someone who likes/wants some gold, I would have rather had a gold set including helmet, than an alternate white set. Gold can and would look good if done right, and a gold/saffron helmet is really needed.

I am fine with black and white as long as we use it as an alternate not constant, we did better last year or so, but when we first started black out unis we wore them entirely too much and not as an alternate.

Do they think there are 60,000 people with gold coats and jackets? The new whites are already kind of dumb. Doing it at home is even dumber.
The yellow on the graphic is just to differentiate it from the cardinal game, although it is a bit confusing. Imagine if they did 3 gold out games lol

Where are you getting gold from?

There's one white game and one red game. That's it.
lol my bad. I assumed the gold on the TT and KSU games were indicators like the other games were. I stand my thoughts on the white out at home.

Should have made North Dakota the white out game as I'm sure it's gonna be 105 degrees at kickoff.
I was thinking the same thing.

Could be warm Oct. 5 for BU, but could be cold/rainy. I'd place the likelihood of people being able to have a white short-sleeve vs. white sweatshirt/coat.

But also, I assume the white-out includes our new spiffy white-with-black uniforms, and it'd be "wasteful" to unveil that in season opener vs an FCS team.

I don't really like any of the new unis. The sleeve stripes look awful and in general the whole ensemble just looks cheap. It feels like the McCarney era where the jerseys started out looking like the Kansas City Chiefs and by the end of his tenure we looked like we bought high school practice jerseys from Dollar General.

Yes, makes more sense. But serious analytical thought by the AD is not always a requisite.

Well if it is as hot as usual for the opening game, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to be be a party pooper and wear white instead of red.

Looks like a White out game for Baylor

So, does this mean all-white unis for Baylor? Have we ever done white Jerseys, or Away unis at Home before?

And I agree, good luck getting the crowd to go 'white out' in early Oct. It could be warm, but it could also be cool. The probability of a white-out by the crowd would be better in the first game. Warm day = white t-shirt.

Should've been on a hot day or day that could snow. October is the absolute worst choice.

I thought everyone had a white coat or jacket. Maybe JP got Nike to make some that match the new uniforms for about $100 and will be available by game time.
