This is seeming like a longer and longer process with Kyle than I was expecting. The longer it goes on, the less I like our chances.
Think we can say this for all of our targets. TJ & Co. are going to have much work to do. Has to be frustrating.

No worries on my end regarding the portal. TJ and his staff have proven effective at identifying undervalued assets and integrating them into the team culture. The overbidding that occurs at the top of the perceived market by the deeper pocket teams reveals the transfers that are more likely to buy in to the team culture, and aren't chasing the largest payout. I'd rather TJ operate like the "Oracle of Omaha" and seek value, than chasing trendy, expensive recruits. Especially with NIL and collective dollars being a very real constraint.

This line of thinking assumes no contact is being made to athletes not yet in the portal. There should be no contact in that space, but I’m not naive enough to believe it doesn’t happen.

I agree. And it's on my to do list: sit down and actually read the updated rules. Finding the time (and motivation) for that task is the hard part. The grey area for communication has to be pretty massive now.

A very balanced and logical post. My brain is thankful vs trying to process a lot of what gets written here.

Interesting first post. Do you walk into parties, glance around, and then loudly proclaim, "Well, I'm glad that girl over by the bar has the decency to not dress like a trollop" ?

Pitino Sr. Bring him back!! Honestly though if the get some of the low list names rumored they will likely only be in Lexington for 3years anyways and the fans will demand a new guy.
Slick Rick Sr will retire soon a short term stop gap who would get a good team in this year. Makes a lot of sense with the options available. Get the the top guy in 3-5 years.
