It will also be the most profitable business. A medical clinic is going to be way more profitable/stable than a bar or restaurant

I like the idea for the clinic being there. Brings in a business that has a consistent revenue stream. I’m sure it will be a big benefit for the athletes and fans that need urgent care on Gameday

It would ACTUALLY be wild if it was a clinic that had weekend usage or some type.

I feel like a clinic specializing in heart and liver disease would fit right in with the needs of tailgaters!
Exactly. Great points. And the reality is a lot of the food/bar businesses on game days will be an added bonus, but many will continue to tailgate, etc. The daily draw of visitors is key. Those folks will stop in for a lunch at said restaurants, snag a coffee, etc.
At least we won't see a carwash as it seems Ames has gotten a half dozen of those this year

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but it's been my understanding that Thielen Student Health would either move to CyTown or that it would be eliminated and this McFarland Clinic would treat students. I've heard rumors about ITS moving into the student health building in a few years.
From the 30-year campus facility plan published last fall:
Over 30 years, key changes include renovation of Sloss House and Beyer Hall, a larger facility to replace the Student Services Building, and an east addition to Beyer shared by student health, counseling and wellness services. A vacant Thielen building would become available for other uses.

Huh? I think it’s a fantastic plan to have a brand new medical facility for the student athletes right next to where they have study table and their meals. It’s not a flashy bar or restaurant but it’s a great add in my opinion
Lol cooked and coated it costs a lot more than that at the state fair. I assumed that is what they meant.
To make that corn truly Iowan you'd have to tile the hell out of the walkway and then make sure the plants doused in herbicide before each game.
It'd save Fox and ESPN from having to send a crew out to a farm on Fridays to get that all-important cornfield B-roll footage.
