Give me Gomes over Amaya and I think you are right. Yan has been really, really solid.

Old man can't catch every game. Today is the game to use the kid. Day game (though cool) and Hendricks on the hill.

I think next year will be basically 50/50 with Amaya getting the young guys ( build long-term connection)and Gomes gets the vets. Hopefully we get him to come back another year or two after that as a traditional backup (40-50 starts)

Not disagreeing with using him today. This was more in response to a poster commenting that Ross finally put our best lineup out there. For my money, our "best lineup" includes Gomes.

Would have been nice to get 3 but getting 2 against a really good pitcher in the first is a great start.

One of the best things about this series is we avoided Angel Hernandez behind the plate. Fully expect him to blow a call at 1st today but at least he isn't calling balls and strikes.
