Lol, my loyalty to Iowa football isn't what tells me a superconference wouldn't happen, I just don't think it would work because eventually 1/2 of that superconference would be comprised of .500 programs which would then be the same kind of dead weight as the bottom half of the B1G and SEC today. Nobody's explained to me how that wouldn't happen. I'm all ears. I know a superconference is the dream for some of you because it would kill off Iowa football but it would also kill off ISU football so it's a little baffling why some are rooting for it.
How would being in a conference outside the so called super conference, be any different than where ISU is now? Outside the supposed power 2.
If something like that ever happens, there will still be conferences a step down, just like now.
You just have a problem with the idea Iowa would likely not be part of the in crowd if that time ever comes.
B1G and SEC already are going to have some big boys not winning it all every year, but they all are all for it.
You think UT and OU really believe they are going in to be middle teams. They fully believe they are going to be SEC champs every year.
The egos of these top tier schools will not let them believe they wont be the best no matter where they go. It will be the same moving to a super conference. Going in they will all think they are going to win it all, so they will jump at the chance of the big money. Then after a decade of not winning they may start being unhappy, but that will be years after the deal is done.
