Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

Spent some time on an ice cream run on the butzbus yesterday with some good friends. First butzbus trip since covid started. Good times.

Except for one little thing...
One couple has been heavily involved with CY Stephens & Fisher Theater (and Hilton back before Pollard's AD took over management of that). @VeloClone knows the hubby. He's pretty mellow, go with the flow; she hates Pollard and everything he does...takes it personally because she doesn't give a crap about sports, only the arts. So she corners me and hits me with "sooooo, what's your opinion of CyTown?" and I'm just looking around for an escape because I know it's not an honest question, she just wants to rant about Pollard ruining everything again. Oy! I tried to talk about it as diplomatically as possible, but I finally said "you know - we're just NOT going to agree on this; let's drop it." She got a couple more licks in and I moved to a different seat on the butzbus. I hate it when she does that. I like them as a couple; they're coming over next Friday for a game night...but one on one with out hubby as a buffer she can really make me crazy. AITA?

We haven't had any here in so long, I've almost forgotten the sound.
I'm sitting here with one cat on the desk next to me with his paw resting on my left hand while I type. Meanwhile, another one is on the desk, between me and the keyboard, with her face mashed into one arm, and her rear resting against the other arm. Fortunately, she's a smaller cat, and I have just enough range of motion to reach the keyboard and my mouse. I have become very good at typing around the cats over the years. Early on, they were in my lap, but I don't really have much of a lap any more. Either that, or my arms are shorter and I can't reach the keyboard any more if they're on my lap. Yeah, THAT's the ticket! ;)

Thunderboomer came through here a bit ago. The noise didn't wake me up. What woke me up was three cats trying to fight their way under the covers. Some of our cats do NOT like thunder...
Because of the husband's part time job, he has a setting on an app that gives him a notification if there's lightning in the area. He got a notification this morning about a strike within 15 miles, and a few seconds later there was audible thunder. Looks like the app works.

Oh, and @ImJustKCClone , NTA. If someone's coming at you for just a fight, which she obviously did, the way you backed out was a lot more graceful than I would have been.

Contemplating going bikeabout. Been gone a week and the forecast storms appear to have fizzled out for the time being. Looks like I have a window to sneak in a 20 mile ride and get back into some routine.

Well, that funeral was more than expected. My friend was in the sanctuary so I went in to see him. A bit later he went to the family part and I just stayed where we sat. Another guy I know showed up and sat down so I wasn’t solo.

They had lunch before the cemetery part. My friend started looking pale. I end up calling the ambulance. Heart issues. He texted me a bit ago and said he was okay. They did the military part in the middle of the street with the rear of the ambulance open so he could see his dad off.

That was kind of them.

Son is working the pool today. Nobody is going to go since it is sprinkling and mid 60s. Same can be said about the golf course, no green fees will happen; but those are being staffed and open. Why? This one is easy, the managers of both do this for part time and extra cash. Both facilities are struggling financially but due to the managers wanting their pay, they will be open for no one.

Although before the son left he told us the manager wears what he even thinks is inappropriate swimsuits (barely cover the necessities) at all times. So maybe I will go see what is going on at the pool.

Daughter is watching one of those HGTV shows where they make some dream home for some couple. The husband on the current episode definitely looks like a better looking, younger brother of Chris Williams.

Report back. With evidence.
