His books were hit and miss with me. But he wrote some all-timers. So many love Blood Meridian but I've yet to try tackling it because (I think?) the writing style is something I wouldn't like.

End of an era. His last two novels released late last year were fantastic. An American icon.
All The Pretty Horses (and the entire Border Trilogy), Blood Meridian, and No Country For Old Men are probably my 3 favorite novels of all time. I have been meaning to pick up Sutree for awhile. I will have to do that now. RIP.
If you like anything written by Cormac McCarthy then you definitely need to set aside time to read Blood Meridian.
Brutal but beautiful novel. It’s a masterpiece imo. I’d like to give it a second read someday.
The Road was the most depressing and touching books I think I've ever read.
All I have read have been pretty dang brutal.
