Robert Jones played 18 minutes, while Tre King played 16.

Barring foul trouble or injury, this should NEVER happen yet it does routinely.
Tech went to small ball, they took their big out and tried to isolate a guard on offense on Jones and it worked great. Our staff never adjusted. needed to bring King in. Still can't believe Jones muffed that point blank shot late in the game.

It's not just this game either.

The iso on Jones has become the go to for all of our opponents. They have ample film that illustrates it's effective every single time. Get Jones up high and he simply can't defend. The added bonus is he is an offensive black hole and a piss poor rebounder. He plays like he is much smaller than he is without any of the quickness. That's a massive problem.

You realize we're in an era where a 16 over a 1 isn't a surprise?

ISU could go undefeated from here on out and still only win a game or none in the tourney.

They've been finnickey at times in the season. They're pretty good but have their limits.

A 16 over a 1 still is a ******* big surprise. It’s happened once for gods sake.

And it happening again vs. even 15 years ago wouldn't be shocking in today's basketball.

Point being winning one NCAA tourney game is still a really good thing.

Way up there
We've given up 78, 76 and 80 the last 3 games. We just aren't bullt to win games like that. Feels like we are one trick pony that is trending down bc teams have figured us out(just like last year). Still have a solid season but winning Saturday is our only hope to stay competitive in the league.

I don’t quite get what your point is. But, yes, the tournament is a crap shoot. It’s a crapshoot when we lose as a 3 seed. It’s a crap shoot when we go to the sweet 16 as 3 seed and a 6 seed.

What’s VERY unusual is blowing a 23 point lead in 15 minutes.

Clone dude is like 'welp, they'll probably just only win one game in the tournament now' like that couldn't happen even if ISU were cruising along.

This team talent wise isn't good enough to just coast and last night is what happens when they settle. That went from 'well they're getting sloppy' to a nightmare.
