Friday OT - Tattoo You

I've mentioned this before, but I made a promise years ago that if the Cyclones ever won a natty in FB, MBB or WBB I would get a "bird in a blender" Cardinal & Gold Cy on the back of my shoulder (I figure that's the only place that won't sag). That was around fifteen years ago.

Recently I've been thinking more and more about just going ahead and doing it.

It's BS that stuff like that happens.
For sure. My company is pretty good but all it takes is one crappy hiring manager. It's definitely getting better as a whole across society but I still have hesitations. Once I get to manager level maybe I will do it as I don't really have any aspirations beyond that lol.

I told my wife my goal was I want to lose enough weight to get a sleeve since they don’t look good on fats like me. It has been a slow process but we’re getting there.

Just take the leap. Heroic Ink is good. Besides your reason will never happen.

I'd love to do a half sleeve but as an engineer I'm worried I'd get judged and might cost me career opportunities. At this point I'm holding off but maybe someday I will!
I'm an engineer for a SUPER conservative culture company. Our unwritten dress code is long sleeve button down shirts and slacks. No polos. That's why I only did a half sleeve. I can still roll up my sleeves without revealing anything. I can always stuff below the elbow later if the situation changes.

Tats look best on skin that is smooth and "full," whether it's over muscle or fat. Depending on how much weight you're talking about losing, that can impact where you put it with loose skin. I'm currently down about 100lbs from my heaviest. I wouldn't hesitate to put anything on my lower legs, arms/shoulders, upper back or chest. But anything on the upper legs, inside bicep, ribs, hips or stomach would be difficult to manage with loose/changing skin.

At my worst I was 335 on a 6’5” frame. I’m hoping to get down to about 250 and showing some progress. The plan is an arm sleeve after it’s a little more toned up.

My cousin is a phenomenal tattoo artist at one of the top shops in Minneapolis, so I’ll probably head up there.

This is a couple he has on his website but I’ve seen a wide range of styles.

Go to Asylum, ask for Hotrod or Tyanne and tell them Curt the racing accountant sent you

I’m a big fan of the pixelated tattoo look.

Outline of my dog's head/face on one arm. Measured out and drew up a half-sleeve for the other forearm, just need to save money (scared of how much it may be! I live in a high COL area) and pick between the three artists I've been scouring on IG.

I think tattoos are cool, but I have zero. Getting one at this point seems awkward. So I need to come up with a list of like 30 before I can start. And that's too expensive. So I'll probably never get any.
