Here's a description I never thought I'd see with a Freddie team: "Hard-nosed relentless defense."
Good to see he's having some success, especially if he sticks it to Iowa this year.

Nebraska on Torvik right now --

#83 overall
#102 offense
#79 defense

I guess you could say that's a team that "wins" with its defense.

Iowa State for comparison --

#39 overall
#170 offense
#7 defense

Iowa State last year --

#43 overall
#186 offense
#5 defense

That's about as close as a clone from one year to the other as you can make.

I'd be curious to know our defense in non conference last year vs all other teams in non conf.

I'm guessing #1 overall in some of these analytics.

If we could even get the offense to reach 150 this team would be very good. Assuming the defensive metrics stay about the same as they are right now.

Imagine if we were all the way up in the 80s!

According to Torvik and per 100 possessions, Iowa State...

Scores 102.5
Gives up 88.4
Net of +14.1

#80 in scoring is San Diego at 106.8 per 100

So that's 4.3 better per 100 than ISU. That would make them +18.4 per 100.

That would put them in the #21 to #25 range instead of closer to #35.

For context, #21 to #25 right now are --

Iowa
Illinois
Auburn
Marquette
Arkansas
