Whoa, Columbia is good! 19-1 in their last 20 road games and 3-1 vs quality competition this season, with their only loss to Vanderbilt! I hope our women bring their A Game as I need something to feel good about after the football debacle. Let’s go State!

Yes…this isn’t going to be a show up and win game. We’re facing a team that can put you under if you don’t take care of business. Get ready for a first half battle that will also determine what the second half looks like.

This should be a heckuva good game! Three of Columbia's losses last season were to Princeton, which was loaded and played one of the most entertaining NCAA games I saw in 2022. Princeton’s All American, Abby Meyers, grad transferred to Maryland - there was brief discussion of trying to add her to the ISU roster but we can’t compete with Brenda! Anyway, Columbia might be favored to win the Ivy!

Also, it’s “color it cardinal” for wbb and mbb. I wore a lot of red last night to football, most of which was never visible :) Will try a different set of red today.

Having Kane as a backup is really nice to have and I love her hustle but we are much better on both ends with Soares. Like the energy on both ends and the ball movement on offense. Really making a point of getting Soares the ball in the paint is good to see.

Former Grinnell Tiger Sienna Durr playing for Columbia.
I wonder what happened to her? She was Ivy Freshman of the Year, Second Team All Ivy as a sophomore, lost year 3 to Covid season cancellation, then only started 19 games last season with scoring and rebounds halved. Something must have happened - injuries possibly…

Don't know. Maybe Columbia brought in better players? She still plays.

I know we are winning by a large margin but our defense is very concerning in our last couple of games. Teams with a pulse are scoring almost at ease at times.
BF is not used to having a big that can block shots. Teams are able to cancel that a bit by moving the person she is guarding away from the paint. Maybe it will change when we play other teams that have true bigs that aren’t dangerous from outside.
