Ken Rex McElroy. It's also where Lisa Montgomery murdered Bobbi Jo Stinnett and cut the baby out of the womb. There have been a few other murders/missing people situations there. The town only has about 300 people in it. Conception is down around there also. That's where the guy shot all those monks back in the early 2000's. Then there's all the stuff that's happened in Maryville.
Nodaway County MO has a hell of a history of violence.

Holy **** that whole story is so ****** up. Wow, if they actually start digging up remains that story will be huge if it's anything like the numbers they are suggesting.

This is what I was thinking. The amount of suicides in the family and the general shittiness of the father make me think there’s something there. It might not be to the extent of what the daughter is saying but I can believe some **** went down.

50-70 is almost an impossible number. Especially from a “drunk lazy moron” who couldn’t keep his mouth shut. I wouldn’t bet against some dark **** happening there but this guy being the most successful serial killer ever isn’t very likely.

Makes for some good headlines though, and now I guess we’ll know for sure because it’s got enough attention they can’t ignore it.

Many in sex work though, right? No one looks for them when they go missing. Next I'd be real curious if the wives committed suicide. Women prefer pills over violent ends.
For sure. Sounds like most, if not all were sex workers, if the claims turn out to be true.

There was a shorter article in the Register today. Seem weird that she has tried to report this in the past with no results.

I agree. The heck is that. If someone says my dad killed a bunch of people and I know where they are burried. They should at least go check out the site. Especially if she was saying 50-70 women.

This story could put him in the top 3 serial killers in American History. Crazy

I live in Norwalk Iowa and we have some serious strange case on two different Murders. The Richard Forsythe murders where he killed his whole family. 7 in total and. Then a lady who probably killed her two kids and got away with it and still lives in Norwalk. Her name is Teri Lass. Here are both things . Pretty crazy stuff for a town that at the time had around 4-5K population

Throughout reading the article, I kept wondering how nothing has been dug up yet. Then the article mentioned the sheriff office budget.

It's crazy that something like this would be slow-played because of money.
Small Counties run on small budgets. You couldnt run Fremont county like neighboring Mills County. (expecting and getting an expanded tax base every year). Very little growth year after year and the number of taxpayers shrinks and the proportional number of people complaining about property taxes rises. There is a ton of property taxpayers asserting political pressure on rural County Supervisors. And in rural counties Supervisor is just a part time job.

Also, Fremont County, in the very southwest corner of the state, experienced the greatest percentage population loss of all Iowa counties between 2010 and 2020, I believe. That it was the most extreme was likely due to major Missouri River flooding in both 2011 and 2019. In 2019, large parts of I-29 were torn up, and as I recall, a levee broke near Hamburg resulting in major flooding there.

Something like 15 or so would seem more plausible and this poor lady has just relived everything in her mind so many times that the number would seem so much higher to her.

There’s something. Maybe just super bad genetics in a shallow pool. In the 30s a guy murdered a teacher. The townsfolk grabbed him, tied him to the school and burned he school down.
Probably wasn't being used anyway
