They keep dropping like flies. I was never impressed with him.
Right - he was very average at WI.

WI Badgers are a team that should be minimum 7-5 every year. Huge pool of talent in wisconsin with one major school in state and it is them. Big Ten West is a buffet of cupcakes.

Don't get it why he struggled so hard there, but I would be all in on Jim Leonhard if I was a Badgers fan.

You have looked up his record and results? He didn't struggle any more than any other coach the last 30 years generally.

Had some rough stuff in 2020 but so did all sorts of teams/programs.

Leipold would be a great hire for them, but they may go the Notre Dame route and hire the young assistant.

It's a play to not let Leonhard get out in the market. They'd already made the decision so why delay?

Doesn't change much for this year. The Iowa-Minnesota winner was always going to win the West anyway because Purdue, as always, we'll have an absolutely inexplicable loss somewhere.

Surprised tbh. Thought Wisconsin might be more forgiving

I think they’d let him finish out the season if not for all the P5 openings already, and to come before the season is over.

Much needed. Leonhard is the obvious candidate but man have his defenses been on a downward trajectory for a while. Possibly just a lack of talent but some concern there.
