Alex Golesh

Time to try and bring him back as OC or allow Campbell move on and hire Golesh as HC w/ Heacock as DC/Assoc HC.

TN offense tearing it up.
I said this in another thread, Golesh is not coming back to Iowa state as an assistant in any capacity, has much better job now . If Campbell ever leaves he would be top of my list.

Could have promoted golesh and told Manning to stay in Indy
Did anyone think Golesh was ready back then? Wasn’t he basically the recruiting coordinator, they also coached TEs?

I haven’t follows him all that closely, but is he really a future HC? Does he even call plays at Tenn? I thought Heupel does

I don't know what's dumber, you asking an OC with an undefeated SEC team, that was burned once to come back and be OC here or asking for the greatest coach in Iowa State history to move on.
Not asking for him to move on, but I am sure Jamie has worked hard to keep him here. We don't want this to be another Solich/Frost dynamic.

But if the spot is open, got to consider him.

Would you consider Golesh apart of Matt Campbell's coaching tree? He really started coaching under Tim Beckman with Campbell but Campbell did hire him at ISU.

Obviously its semantics but with Golesh's name being brought up for some big jobs (VT and UCLA) would be cool to claim him.

Yes.

Most coaches have multiple influences and are a part of multiple 'trees', really.

What's the story there? I always thought Alex just got an opportunity and took it. Did we actually do something to push him out? I knew at the time he was a huge loss, and I don't even know that much about assistants.
